i'm a newer golfer and i can't hit my 3-wood to save my life... I slice the ball BAD just about every time.

I think a hybrid club from the fairway will help my game and my confidence tremendously. I know most of you will say, don't worry about buying new clubs until your game is improved... but... i like new toys and have the money to burn on a new club.

I went to Dick's today to test some clubs in the simulator:

1. TM
2. Cobra Baffler ($99)
3. Callaway Big Bertha Diablo

I was hitting each of them 200+ yards but I was slightly more consistent with the Callaway. I didn't notice a hell of a lot of difference between the three. Naturally when it comes to buying something I am extremely indecisive.

convince me which one to get!

Dude, its YOUR $$$, don't worry about what's your handicap when you buy equipment ! Just get equipment that suits your style of play....go try a few different makes and models, there is NO hard and fast rule

Though I would advise you to try the clubs at an open range, that way you can really let fly and feel which club suits you best I started playing 18 months ago, wanna know what MY first driver was ? Titleist 909D2....! Yes sir, I was playing like 40's or something and my friends thought I was nuts ! Hey, its my $$$, I can buy whatever I want....hahaha. But you know what, when you play with good equipment, somehow in your mind you start thinking your a good player...and as a result, look at my handicap now ! Cheers Ray

I have a Taylor Made 3 and 4 Rescue club, and they are great! I bought them to replace my 3 & 4 iron and haven't looked back since. For me, they are very easy to swing and feel great when you make contact. Clubs are based on a personal feeling, so don't buy them because someone tells you they work great for them, swing them yourself and decide which ones feel better to you.

Which was apparently the Callaway since he was hitting it more consistent. Although I can't really make a decision for him since he only went there once and who knows if he was having a good or bad day. So I say to arch, go back to the store and try out the clubs again and make your decisions from there. Line up the data.

Tried them all (except the Diablo) and bought the Cobra Baffler TWS (regular flex) last week. Like someone else said on this board, if you can't hit this club, take up shuffleboard

Seriously, I had the exact same issue you did until I started using this club. Wow! My FIRST strike the ball took off and went where I wanted it to. Since then, I have not feared my second shot on long holes.

Lastly, you can not beat the price of $99.00 brand new!

okay i took your advice, went out to edwin watts this time....

had the cobra baffler, callaway x, and a nike victory red hybrid 3s hit the cobra first... decent results. hit the VR second... hit a long straight ball consistently. hit the X third... decent results. back to cobra... slice, then straight and short. finally the victory red again... 225 straight.... 230... straight and that was it. bought the VR aldila voodoo stiff shaft. very excited. Only one slot left in my golf bag!

You actually have two slots, it says your playing the sand wedge that came with your burner set and a Cleveland 56* wedge you should probably take the burner sand wedge out because its is basically the same as the Cleveland but worst .

My suggestion time to get a 52* and 60* wedge to complete the set with the proper bounces of course. Its all well and nice to be able to hit a hybrid on the fairways but you need the tools around the green as much if not more

I like that club too. Go to the range or play a round with it and see how it plays out. If it's not good, you can take it back and use that money for the other one to try out.

I just got a good deal on an Adams Idea a7 3 hybrid and I just love it. It's the club that I finish up my full swing practice with at the range because I hit it really well. I'd recommend giving that one a shot if you get a chance to hit it.

+1. I am loving this club. My friend hit it and went out and got one for himself. I was 220 out of the rough Sunday and dropped it pin high. It's a little heavy so I don't swing as hard...which makes it easier to control.

+2. Both my hybrids are Adams Idea and I have 0 complaints. My #5 Adams Idea TECH A4OS is by far the easiest to hit and most solid feeling club in the bag right now.

In my OGIO Kingpin bag:

Putter - Nike Ignite 002

No but seriously you did the perfect thing to do if looking for a new club. Great club choice by the way. Hope you do well with it!
