I had a old Yes! putter lying around at home that I got a year or two ago.
Practiced with it today and the ball rolled so much better tham my old putter which bobbled all over the place.

It'll save me a few strokes!

Nice! Anything to add confidence to your putting stroke is a pure WIN! Without confidence, the "yips" are inevitable.

I just switch putters from a two ball odyssey to a Yonex ADX blade putter, just to mix thing up. my putting stats for the last two rounds have been 27 and 29 putts for 18 holes. What I like about the blade putter is the forged soft feel and feedback. The blade putter is harder and less forgiving than the two ball but provides tons of feedback.

I agree 100%
not only in the putter but all of your equipment in general - if you dont have confidence in it, you wont play well
they say this game is mastered, when you can control the 6" between your ears

I have 200% more confidence in my putting w my Scotty...I KNOW if i missed it was me and i stopped blaming the putter!! hahah

i won't say my putter is a great one but since i've upgrade to it my putting has improved a lot and that's a big reason for my handicap going do by 23 strokes to my current one. for the last months of the season my ballstriking wasn't very good but my improvements in putting saved me a lot of strokes.

I feel the exact same way. I have become a much improved putter since moving away from the Craz-E and Sabertooth high-moi mallets to traditional blades. I find myself practice putting for the first time since I was a kid, simply becuase of the feed back about my stroke that I get from an old-fashioned blade putter.

Where would you go to get fitted for loft and lie for $10? I can't find anywhere to get a proper fitting let alone for $10.

I agree with a lot posted above. It doesnt necessairly have to be a good putter, but a putter that works for you. I really like the responce I get from my Scotty. Its more firm than my old odyssey and I feel like I can control my distance better.

exactly

it doesnt have to be a SC or a Bet. or some expensive putter if it looks good TO YOU and YOU feel comfortable over it...that's all that counts

I have been hitting the same Turin $15 putter for the last 10 years. (24 years old) I went to the local golf store today and hit putts for 2 hours. I am a straight back straight through type of putter and prefer a face balanced putter. I decided between a Odyssey White Ice ($160) and a Maxfli putter ($44). I ended up choosing the Maxfli only because it felt the exact same, if not better, for about an hour of putts as the Odyssey. I can not wait to get out on the course for the first time Monday!!!!

Bingo.... we have a winner. You don't necessarily have to spend a lot of money to get a putter that's right for you. It simply needs to feel right when you make a stroke with it. For some that only comes with a Scotty, for others (me for instance) it might come with a $60 putter built from components. I'm far less concerned about how it looks than about how it feels when I hit a putt (and, of course, the results

). I played Anser style blades for more than 20 years, and I always putted well with them. But when a case of the yips popped up one spring, I was never again able to use it with consistency or confidence. To this day I don't know why that was. A friend loaned me his Golfsmith Enterprise, and it felt like velvet... 5 one-putts in 9 holes. I had him build me an identical putter and the yips were gone. I'd never even used a mallet before, and now I have this crazy spaceship looking thing, but it works for me. It just reinforces the fact that the putter is the one truly unique and personal piece of equipment in one's bag.

10$ should be a ballpark price for getting your putter fit. I wasn't talking about an entire fitting session, just the putter, and I mentioned it because some overlook the importance of doing this and only get their irons done.

The pro at Dick's Sporting Goods near my home is very good at what he does, but to most I'd reccomend a reputable pro shop that only deals in golf, since chain stores can be kind of iffy at times.
