i think the caddy view would of looked a little more powerful if I would of went a little farther on the backswing. S&T teaches to go until your head rotates a tiny bit to the right but your eyes stay on the ball my turning in their sockets left. I didnt go that far

Technically, we teach a swing that fully loads (but doesn't overload) #1 and #4 accumulators (right elbow bend, left arm across chest) and has roughly a 90° shoulder turn).

i see, what degree does #4 go to, I know #1 stops at 90*. Is it like 43* or something?

Was reading mike and andys stack n tilt book at barnes and noble and came across this picture they had in the book of how impact should look, so I snapped a picture of it with my phone. I think I could use a little bit of a straighter left arm but I think as far as my upper body its good. Im doing some work with my legs now per instruction from golf evolution.

I had a practice session today and I really got the stock shot flight down for the S&T swing. I mean Im still going to have to practice and practice but I was hitting mostly all high push draws with a few straighter slight draws, it was nice. I had that feeling of being able to come inside and really whip the club through the ball close to impact. The thing that really got me able to feel that whipping through the ball close to impact was stopping fast on my follow through. It really does allow you to whip through the ball causing alot of swing speed for a high push draw. Im not there by any means as in a pefect swing but it was nice to have a push draw and really increase my swing speed at the same time.

With the help of Golf Evolution Ive come to the swing Ive got now. Im really happy with it now since I have a much more fundamentaly sound swing and my shots are straight or sometimes a little push draw. Much much more accurate. Heres what Im going to be sticking with for awhile, of course little adjustments in between.

The clubface isnt closed at the top or it would be facing the sky, it might be like a tiny tiny bit closed nothing I want to change or noteworthy. Plus Im hitting it with the ballflight I want.

The face looks nicely square to the arc to me. Good job man. Looks like you have the big pieces working.

thanks stretch, yea too bad I got my swing to where I want it at the end of the season, lol. Takes awhile to do it the right way. Im going to keep working on it for sure over the winter and take my playing partners money. I really want to ingrain it. He doesnt practice over the winter and hes a 6 handicap in his prime. I plan on taking his money next spring, lol

I think the clubface is open when it faces the sky at the top, and shut when it's more forward, but I'm probably wrong.

PS. I realize as I'm typing that I'm replying to the wrong post.

i dunno guys. lol. Compare it to this picture at the top.

I see your point, but I assumed we were talking about the clubface. I'm still probably wrong.

I would agree with you that square is the bottom picture and then open and shut have been reversed on the top. But I also know nutting.

I didnt really post it for help or critique, I understand people want to help but I really like where its at right now. The clubface is good to me, I dont hinge side to side, only up and down and my arms are in good position through the backswing and at the top so the clubface is going to be exactly the angle I had it at address when its at the top

Why bump your own thread if you don't want someone elses feedback or thoughts? You could just create a blog.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
