not to highjack the OP thread...but how do you like your Victory Red irons? I'm thinking about getting them and was wondering opinions from those who have them...

Well technically my part of the thread is over, cause I already ordered a bag, so hijack away.

What kind of bag do you have now? If it's in good shape, and you don't mind the looks, I don't see why you'd need another bag...

You don't walk and you don't use golf carts? Do you mean you use a push/pull cart (they can be used in either direction - true story) or you do take power carts? What's your current bag? You're not giving us a lot of information to go on here.

I have no clue what kind of bag it is. I bought it about 8 years ago. some of the zippers have crusted over and not workable anymore. It's just a regular black bag with rain damage and is faded. haha, I think im just looking for an excuse to go out and buy another bag.

Based on an earlier post it sounds like you're gaming the POS 2000. It could be time for an upgrade.

Yeah man, I'd get a bag. You don't have to go out and spend major bucks. Most companies release new bag designs every year and the older ones get discounted. You can get good cart bags that allow you to carry a lot of toys, and who doesn't like toys??

Thanks man!! I'm going to walk my first round with it today. So far I love the cooler pocket, since I carry a LOT of water...

The Nike is a great bag. I bought mine last year toward the end of the season and have no complaints yet. The cooler pocket actually works, and I really like the "valuables" pocket as well.

I used to have a callaway warbird bag. pretty nice, small and super light. then I got midsize grips on my clubs and they started to get stuck in the bag whenever I tried to pull one out, so I got an Ogio Grom, couldn't be happier. the only downside is it's heavier than the callaway.

I have a callaway warbird bag with 8 dividers (I think). I have regular sized grips and if I don't put the clubs in the right way they can become stuck, so I agree that if a person has oversized grips they should maybe look at a bigger bag.

The other downsides to the callaway is that is has no slot for extra balls on the exterior of the bag. It would also be nice if it had one of those putter holsters. Outside of that, I love the bag as it is very light, so far very sturdy (about 60 rounds) and has enough pockets (including water bottle pocket). Brandon

I will let you in on one bad point about the bag, don't put your pencil in the pencil slot as you WILL loose it, oh and if you think "I will put it in the pen slot" you will only get it out if you turn the bag upside down LOL

Enjoy your round dude

LOL!!

Mine hung in there today, but it probably isn't stretched out yet. The bag was AMAZING!! Much more comfy than what I had. And I could fit two Pint size bottles of water in the cooler pocket and then a 20oz on the cooler sleeve. Everything is right where you can reach as you walk, except for the glove velcro but it only took a few times before I got in the habit of taking off before I started walking. Played an 18 hole Par 3 Course today (27 front and 27 back) and shot 34 on each side....

    • I don't see the swing speed as any advantage or disadvantage either way. While they don't have the "WOW!" factor that some of the men have. i.e. "Did you see Rory's 380 yard drive on 17!" That kind of thing. They do, however, play the courses shorter. I think their average LPGA Tour course is like 6400 yards, compared to 7300 for the men. So when I watch it on TV it looks kinda the same. They hit driver then 8 iron, just like the men hit driver then 8 iron. I don't really care that the hole is 100 yards shorter or whatever.  Let me put it another way. If I was to watch the WNBA and then watch the NBA, I would immediately notice how much slower the players are. How much more the men play above the rim. etc... Why? Because the court is the same size. The hoop is the same height. When I watch the LPGA Tour and then watch the PGA Tour, I don't notice (as much). They hit driver then 5 iron into a par-5 just like the men do. Because the course is smaller, it looks similar. BTW - The same is true of softball vs baseball. The softball diamond is much smaller. So, the line shots look similar, there are equally as many home runs, because the field is smaller it looks pretty similar in play.  Here's where to my way of thinking, they can make some hay. If the LPGA Tour was to lead the way in terms of pace of play they may be able to add additional excitement to their game and possibly start to make some converts. I'm an idiot who has never been a sports commissioner. But it seems that when MLB noticed their games started approaching 4 hours and Major League Soccer was always done in under 2 hours. They made changes to try to improve and it seems to be working.  With the LPGA Tour it seems you either need exciting personalities or need exciting play. If they improve the pace of play issue it could add to exciting play. Again, I'm no expert but that seems like an area they could lead instead of follow. It does seem they've recognized this. So, we shall see.
