Hi guys,
Im taking a vacation to Las Vegas at the end of this month. I was wondering if anyone here could give me some suggestions of some courses to go play in the Las Vegas area? Im kinda on a budget, but more because I would like to play more than one course and Im taking my wife who golf's as well. Im staying at the Wynn, and I would love to play that course, but at $300 a person Im positive that one is out! Im looking for courses more in the under $100 a person range because I do have to pay for two people.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks. I tried to look for those, but nothing came up in the search... I don't know? Maybe they were so old they were deleted? Haha

Thanks. I have played Canyon Gate CC out there in Summerlin, and apparently 'Bears Best" is the sister course for that club, but I haven't played it yet. I heard its a great course though! I was just looking at Arroyo Red Rock, and it looks like a great course as well. The Paiute courses are not cheap, I looked. Either they raised their prices or they just don't like out of towners... I also looked at Aliante, which looks like a solid golf course as well...

Lived in Henderson for 5 years so have played a number of courses around town. You are going to find the rates to be cheaper at this time of year, which is good. The best courses for the money, in my opionion, are Angel Park, Legacy, Rio Secco (if you can find a good rate or hit a jackpot), Boulder Creek, Primm Valley. Drink plenty of water! have fun.

I've played about eight of them. My favorites are Pauite Wolf and TPC LV. Mostly they are way overpriced for what you get.

The very best I've played is Cascata. Really awesome.....for $500.

Hi guys,

When I was in Vegas last month I took the monorail past that course a few times a day and I didn't see anyone on it once! It's beautiful, but it's not worth that kinda dough for a round. The hilton has a course too, but it's $150 a round I think.

I'm heading out there next month. Has anyone here played Tuscany or Painted Desert? We have t-times already booked for sat and sun, and the friday round is at angel park mountain. i have played the palm course which was really nice. I have also played aliante which was a pretty boring track imo. also legacy which was really nice. any opinions on Tuscany or Painted Desert. Also has anyone played Silverstone, look really nice. Hopefully we get to that one next year as well as badlands, and maybe rio secco or bali hai if we win big

I've played all of the courses you mentioned. Tuscany is pretty good and not too expensive by Vegas standards. Pinted Desert is pretty plain and pretty tight. Comparable to Aliante. Silverstone has some good holes, but has a lot of homes and a lot of construction going on when I last played there, although that was before the economic down turn. I'd rank them Tuscany, Silverstone and then Painted Desert. Badlands and Rio Seco are okay. Pretty tough and overpriced. Bali Hai is my favorite of the ones you've listed. It's very nice but expensive. I prefer any of the three Paiute courses over the ones you've listed. Other courses I'd prefer are the two at Primm, The Chase at Coyote or Boulder Creek.

I should have updated this a week or so ago.
I wound up playing Canyon Gate Country Club... again... I just couldnt beat $60 and the first tee time of the day before it got too hot. I was going to play Aroyo Red Rock, but the wife didnt want to play in the heat, so we went to the pool ALL day. Haha

I think Im going to go back to Vegas at the end of August, and hoping to play some of the bigger courses (for my birthday). or for sure Bears Best this time...

Ive always wanted to play Badlands and TPC Las Vegas.
My grandfather worked for the PGA/TPC. He was the construction manager (I don't know the official title) for Badlands back when it was built. Unfortunately he doesn't have ties to the course anymore. But I remember going out there when I was a kid and sitting in a golf cart on that course watching them blow the dynamite to make those canyons there. It was pretty cool. I wish he had a lifetime pass or something...

I'm a $30-70 max kinda golfer. I just don't have the money or golf game to really "take advantage" of the higher priced courses. Get yourself a $30 Red Dot book and head over to Rhodes Ranch and get a buy one get one green fee for that course. Haven't played it but I walked a few holes and it looks beautiful. The kinda grass you dont want to take a divot on.

Otherwise you could check out Casblanca and Palms out in Mesquite.

Rhodes Ranch is OK, nothing really special about it. For the "big" courses, TPC is good, Bears Best is good, Rio Secco is excellent, the two courses in Primm are excellent. For medium priced, I would suggest Angel Park (two 18 holers), Legacy, Tuscany or Boulder Creek.

How are the prices at those places you suggested Harmonious? And whats your take on Rhodes Ranch? Like i mentioned, I only walked a few holes so I'd love to hear someone's take on it that has played the course.

I was a resident at the time, and had a couple of "locals" cards, so my rates in the Summer were really low. But I just checked a couple of the non-resident rates: Angel Park (weekend) = $45, Tuscany (weekday after 11:00 am = $50), Legacy ($75 regular, $55 Twilight), Revere ($90 regular, $49 Twilight). Bear in mind that at most places, the twilight rates start around 11:00am, no later than 2:00pm. Good bargains, just stay hydrated.

Rhodes Ranch was an OK course. I only played a couple of times, but it was in good shape and had some good holes. The course just wasn't very memorable to me. But it certainly wasn't a goat track, for sure.

    • I too am still smarting from Rory's collapse. Shame, but let's hope he bounces back with a major or two or three in the coming years. As for Bryson, I wasn't rooting against him at all because like many others I've found him more likeable now than say 3-4 years ago. However, once that final putt dropped and I saw him celebrating I realized pretty rapidly... I don't like Bryson that much! 😄 But look, devil's advocate, his new persona may be calculated, but Josh Koch recently only had nice things to say about Bryson in his recent swing analysis of him. Bryson has been inspired by Josh: ...and maybe this is why Josh doesn't have anything bad to say about him, but hey, I like Josh Koch, I respect his opinion on things golf related, and yea, I'm inclined to dial back my Bryson hate if someone like Josh is saying he's not as phony as he may be coming off as lately.    I'm not trying to make excuses for his blatant tone deafness over the Saudi regime's atrocities and all that, just that Bryson seems to be a genuinely nice guy otherwise... even if I wasn't really rooting for him.

    • I am just about getting over it today. I have always been a Rory fan and I have watched his career swings, mostly up. The last ten years have probably been tough even with all the victories and success, because I am sure his goal is to make Majors his legacy. The last couple of years must have taken a toll because of his level of engagement with the Tour, and Sunday was the ultimate crash. He just got beat in the Open at St. Andrews and there were other Majors where he had a chance and just fell short. Sunday was different. He just blew it, and to a LIV player to boot. The pain and humiliation will leave a serious mark and it may take some time for it to heal. Regardless, there will be scar tissue. I will remain a fan, but I can't say that I will stay as committed. I felt a degree of his pain and I don't need that, being a long time Philly sports fan, if you know what I mean in THAT regard.
    • Day 99. Played 18. Didn’t spray the ball everywhere and played to my handicap. Happy with results overall because golf is hard.
    • I knew there was an easier way to get my handicap down!
