Best part is helping someone else look for a ball and finding 4 other decent ones. I'd say I like it when I go in looking for my own and come out with a few, but I'd rather not be in there looking for mine.

Agreed! I would rather not be in there..but typically every ball I shank, I can find 1 or 2. If we play scrambles and the wait is long for the next hit, then I usually stroll through the thick stuff. The junk balls I find usually go in the lake in my back yard. Just go tee up when no one is out there and see how far they will go.

The best pickin' comes on expensive courses with narrow fairways and deep dropoffs into creeks. The rich old guys won't/can't climb down there so you can usually find a bunch of pristine ProV1 balls. I only go down there to look for my own ball or for someone else in my group. Sometimes in deep deep rough I will find a number of balls instead of or before my own. If there's good, I'll play them, otherwise I just leave them at the next tee box.

I typically don't go looking for them due to the Rattle Snakes!!! hanging out around the course I play. Now if I see a ball, surely I will pick it up :)

I love my CC because everyone that golfs there is too old, or too stuck up to take a stroll in the woods to go get their ball. Just more for me!

All the ProV's I've got are all from the woods. Those are what I use on those risky holes where I don't want to lose my usual ball (tp black). I did, however buy all my balls slightly used, which is pretty much mint. After discovering stores like lostgolfballs, I don't believe in buying new balls, and I have no reason not to play a premium ball fitting my game best.

My girlfriend's family lives on a private expensive golf course here in WA, where all the rich hackers are slicing and hooking balls left and right. They get an average of 3 golf balls a day in their back yard...all ProV1's or various other expensive golf balls.

Last time I went out I was waiting for the group ahead of me to progress, looked in the "marsh" behind me and found 6 without moving 5 feet. Too bad only 1 was decent enough to play.
