I am looking for a new bag, and really like the bags like the sasquatch tour carry because of the 14-way divided top. I would get this bag, but i don't really like any of the color schemes they have for this bag.

Do you know of any other 14-way divided bags? I have also seen one from titliest, but this is really all i have seen.

Also, do you know of any bags where you don't have to shove your clubs in(not nescesarily a 14-way divider)? The bag i have now is and 8 divider, and i always am having to shove the club in and move others around.

Thanks

I wanted a 14-way bag over the winter. The Titleist, Nike and SunMountain were all I could find at the time. After further looking, I found one by RJ Sports at tgw.com. It is half the price of the other three and came in the color scheme I liked - all black. Check it out. http://www.tgw.com/customer/category...ords/rj+sports I've been very happy with it so far.

Thanks for the help. I'll probably decide on one of these three.

I've got that one, and honestly I wouldn't recommend it. The biggest reason being that the leg assembly is pretty poor. When I pick it up, the legs rarely retract in all the way like they're supposed to. Also the bottom lever part of the bag that hits the ground doesn't have much grip to it so if you put it down on some slick concrete like I do at the range, the base of the bag always wants to slide backwards. Since there is nothing besides the (plastic) hinge at the top of the legs to prevent it from completely collapsing a lot of strain ends up on that one particular part and it doesn't handle it too well. Several times I've turned around for a different club and my bag is laying almost on the ground with the legs sticking all the way out in front of it. Garbage.

It also gets to be problematic getting clubs to go all the way into the slots sometimes, and the strap mechanism is squeaky but this isn't nearly as annoying as the problems with the legs.

Looking at the pics of the 14 way divider on the TM one, I have got to say that that is the worst 14 way layout I have ever seen, at least the Nike/Titleist and Sun Mountain bags have got 14 dividers that run horizontal and not look like the bag has been twisted by Iron Man!

Also check how many full length dividers there are in the bag. When clubs get tangled up in the bottom of the bag, sometimes a 14-way top makes it more difficult to get the clubs in.

the SunMountain bag and Titleist bag are the same. Sun Mountain makes Titleist bags.

Are you looking for full length dividers? I am going to buy one but I want to make sure they are full length. The titleist probably is if it is the same as the Sun Mountain and the Sasquatch is for sure. I almost pulled the trigger on the Nike bag last night but needed to do some more research on it.

I have the Ogio Edge in the black and orange. I added the plastic tubes for all my clubs except the putter. Clubs slide in and clubs slide out easily with no tangle.

the more i look at the taylormade bag, the more i like the titliest and sun mountain bags. I agree, Ash, the top dividers does look crazy on the taylormade one. The titliest and sun mountain bags are also around 2 pounds lighter than the taylormade. Thats would be a plus during those long, 18-hole, tournaments i play in during 90 degree weather.

What do you guys think? The Titliest or the Sun Mountain. I know they are about the same design, but which do you think looks better. Also, do you know if both bags have full length dividers and not just a 14-way top

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
