Anybody watching the fights tonight? Who do you got? This should be a great night of free fights. A few interesting storylines: Can Gomi regain his form of 3 years ago, What will Jones do next, can Okami put a stop to Munoz's MW run. I can't wait.

Tyson Griffin vs. Takanori Gomi - Griffin

John Howard vs. Jake Ellenberger - Ellenberger

I think Jones will put on a striking clinic on Vlady before eventually taking him down and finishing him with some brutal GnP. The Janitor is a good fighter, but I don't see a way he can win this fight. even though this is at best a lateral stepfor Jones,Greg Jackson's fighter never come in unprepared on unmotivated.

I think pretty much everyone picked Griffin. Gomi had not looked good over the past 2 years. Hopefully this fight is a harbinger of things to come from him. When he was on top of his game he was one of the most exciting LWs out there.

There are quite a few fighters that "were" good in Pride and have come over and done nothing. Gomi was no exception until last night

This is exactly why everyone picked Griffin. Gomi hasn't done anything in years and didn't look good against Florian either. Smart money would have been on Griffin

Does anyone know who Bones will fight next?! This guy is exciting...

He said he wants a top 3 guy. He has also talked about moving back and forth between 205 and HW kind of like Randy did. He said that he will move to HW at the drop of a hat to fight James Toney....Toney has had a few choice words for Jones lately. I'm sure you noticed how big Jones was. He was 226 fight night and walks around around 235 or 240, so he is huge for LHW. I think they will throw him in there with a top guy next. I actually felt that fighting the "Janitor" was a step backwards for him but that is just my opinion.

Hopefully Bones vs Rampage, and then if Ryan Bader defeats Lil Nog:

Bader vs jones for a title shot.

forgot about that one

You're right though, probably Griffin next, maybe Thiago Silva when he recovers from whatever is keeping him out of this weeks fight

Bones vs Thiago Silva would be fricking CRAZY

I am a huge MMA enthusiast and I think Jon Jones is a going to be a Champ very soon!

The most recent rumor about his next fight was the winner of the Bader/Lil Nog fight! Either fighter (Bader/lil Nog) would be a great test for Jones. All three guys are the next face of the LHW division!! I can't wait to see who wins and if they will confirm Jones' next opponent!

Bader is over rated. Bader's wrestling is what has gotten him this far and Jones' wrestling would nullify it. Lil Nog is a much better fighter than Bader. Either way, Jones takes the win.

I really don't like the fact that the wrestling guys are doing so well. The one's that try to finish the fights are fine, but the guys that use their wrestling to LnP on their opponents to get a decision win are ridiculous. But I realize that it is their opponents' job to stop that. Wrestling is coming out on top pretty good right now, but I say in a year or so it goes by the waste side. It will be easier for the other fighters to learn TDD than it will be for the wrestler's to learn top level BJJ and striking....IMO

I agree, Bader hasn't shown enough to make me think he has a shot against Jones. I wasn't a big fan of his on TUF, too cocky for his limited skills, but he is a great wrestler and that is going to make him dangerous to alot of guys, Jones just isn't one of them.

Stand up guys need to learn to anticipate the shoot and throw a well timed knee. Wrestlers will be less likely to go for the TD if they have to worry about a knee to the face. It seems non-wrestlers panic when going against wresters and completely change their fighting style. I've seen too many strikers and BJJ fighters just stand there frozen trying not to open themselves up for a takedown which not only makes for a boring fight but almost ensures them of a loss.

I agree. For the good strikers, I can't believe they never try a knee. I mean, they know they are going down anyway, so why not try a knee, kick, or even an upper cut. That's why I predict the wrestler's will fall off before long....but that can be said for anything. It all goes in cycles. No one art will rule for ever.

    • Day 87 (27 Jul 25) - Made it an easy session with the wedge this afternoon, worked on staying in the shot and not lifting out - split between low spinners and higher floaters.
    • Shot my new low 72 (par 70) today. Had 5 birdies, also a new best, which included a hole out from the bunker on par 3 6th, and another hole out pitch from 15ish yards on the long par 4, 15th.  Got a couple of other good breaks. Except for an OB drive on 14th (and ensuing double bogey), not much went wrong. All in all I might have used up a year's worth of luck in a single day.
    • Back in the saddle after vacation.  Day 1: played 18. Did not have it, but still battled to an 82. Felt closer to a 90, but that’s fine.
    • Yes, I have seen this from the older crowd that play the 4,700 yard tees and want to know why they get less strokes from there. Always trying to game the system 🤣
    • Day 300 - 2025-07-27 Good 44-ball segment. GSPro was acting goofy, so I just put it on the Quad. Then I hit a bunch of low spinners. Hit 14° down to 9.8° down, with the average closer to 12.3° or so. Focused mostly on the backswing. Right knee good, hands roll up and out a little before laying off (FAR).
