the idea behind the oil can finish is that over time it rusts and supposedly creates more spin.

I have 3 of them, all brand new this year. I mainly bought them for the bronze color finish which appealed to me. They havent began to rust yet. I do take care of them though. I normally wipe them off after each shot with my golf towel and clean all my clubs after each round to keep them looking new.

There is zero added spin. If anything they yield less spin over time because the rust speeds up the degradation process of the face and dulls the groove edges faster.

I have one because I like the look. I keep the face free from rust but I let the backside rust because it looks cool.

I had one and I liked it because it wasn't shiny. I don't like all the reflections I get with the chrome.

I have a new (to me) Callaway X-Forged Vintage which is the same idea, just bare steel. I don't want the rust (I plan to clean it with WD-40 periodically to keep that in check) but I like the dark finish. I have a PVD black Adams sand wedge, but in that case the black finish rubbed off almost immediately. It's still not shiny chrome, but I'm not too enamored with the two-tone finish...

I recently bought 3 of them, the LW is chrome colour is starting to fade already after 5 round in the sweet spot area. Not sure why it happened so fast. Has that happened to the rest of you?

The only advantage to oilcan might be less glare on open-faced shots, but thats about it. Other than that its preference. Some people like the raw look that rusts over time. The rust doesnt give more spin though, if anything it gives less.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?
