driver distance

Just curious I recently purchased a new driver and know my club head speed now. My question is what "could" my distance be with a club head speed of 105. Given I had the proper launch angle, spin, etc. (I don't) but wanted to know if theres a way to calculate my potential?

That's not the way it works.

Assuming you're about 1,000 feet above sea level, your maximum carry would be with a 20° launch and 2772.8 RPM of spin, and it would be 268.2 yards. Assuming you can get a 16° launch, you can carry it 265.9 yards. Again, these are assuming perfect strikes, and perfect spin rates. Looking at the PGA tour stats, there are 5 players that average roughly 105 mph, and their driving distance is between 265 and 270.

105 mph swing speed, i would say if you make a good swing and hit it straight, you should be close to 300 yards. My swing speed is in the low 90's and my best drives are in the 260-270 yard range and have on occasion given help from wind and downhill holes or elevated tees etc reached 280-290 yards. For every 1 mph in swing speed you gain about 3 yards. Not saying that with a 105 mph swing speed every drive will be 300 yards but your best drives should be close to that and probably average about 275 total distance, probably about 250 yards carry or so.

He's not going to hit it 300 yards with a 105mph SS without some cart path intervention or ridiculous wind behind him.

Don't know where you find your numbers, but that is a book of fiction. Realistically, his

average will be no more than about 250, and that includes all drives under all conditions. What you call his average is more likely to be what he hits on a near perfect strike.

Swing Speed is irrelevant. The fact that you post on the The Sand Trap forum is sufficient for you to reach, or even exceed, the current PGA Tour average driving distance.

Like others say 250ish on average, some a bit further. You will bust out the odd 300 yarder when the stars align (down wind, you hit it on the nuts and it lands on a hard fairway)

My swing is 101 -103mph and a good drive for me 240-260, once and while I bust a out a 275yarder and I have hit a few 300 this year out of the 100 roun.ds I have played this year

At dicks my swing speed was 103-105. i hit the ball 280 plus most of the time. my friend was 3 -5 faster than me but he only hits the ball around 250. it depends on your swing.
