I've seen in a couple of threads where extension of legs and or spine is recommended but I don't really understand what that means. Could anyone explain a bit. Thanks

See how the legs straighten (extend) and the low back bends backwards (extends) into impact and follow through. You can see this best from the 1:22 to 1:27 parts in the video.

It feels as though you are tucking your butt underneath your belt buckle while the right leg is extending to a point where it is almost straight. It doesn't straighten completely but the knee doesn't just turn and face the target...almost a slight "jumping" feeling

Thanks for the reply's. Do all pros do this and is it required for a consistent swing as I don't think I do that already.

On full shots, can't think of a pro that doesn't do this well (some pros extend better than others)

Tom Watson and Charlie Wie have great leg and back extension

Tom could do a lot better in that video. The right leg never extends for him.

Thanks for the videos. Watching the Watson video I can't see when he extends his leg. Do you extend leg just before impact or start of down swing does anyone also know the reason behind this as well. thanks

That line of thought won't probably get you to extend your left leg when you're hitting the ball at impact. I think it's mostly balancing your weight correctly. If you distribute 80% of your weight on your left leg right on impact(if you're a righty), then that leg should be fully extended.

Tom could do a lot better in that video. The right leg never extends for him.

So the right leg extends do to the lateral shift? When the right heel stays on the ground at impact, but footwork rolls you onto the inside of your right foot were it then turns up to the finish?

The right leg extends to raise the belt. You can push well forward while still having a flexed right knee/leg.
