I haven't seen a thread on grip preference. To the general readership: I have been experimenting with different types of grips lately. I had my clubs regripped with the Golf Pride Multicompound grips yesterday. While I haven't played with them yet, I did try this grip on a friend's club to help me determine whether I wished to give them a try. Also, I wear a men's cadet small glove and, consequently, grip size is very important to me ( can't turn the club over if the grip is too big ). Do you have a grip preference? Is the size of your grip important to you?

I use Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips and like them. I don't generally wear a glove and I find them easy to hold on to, durable, good in wet conditions, and inexpensive.

I don't have big hands, or I should say I don't have really long fingers so grip size is important to me. I use whatever the standard size is and that seems to fit my had well.

I use either the golf pride tour velvet or the lamkin equivalent. I don't like the softer grips from Winn and I am cheap so haven't tried the multi compound variations etc. I also have short fingers, wear a ML cadet glove, since standard grip size is perfect for me I wonder if others are playing with to small of grips or does that mean my grip is poor?

I like the Winn g-8's. I wear a ML or L glove (depending on brand, either Titleist or Taylormade React) and use a normal grip size. For some reason, I think the softer grip allows me to grip the club more lightly.

Lamkin Tour Black Cord ... love them! I'd probably go with the GolfPride multicompound grips if not for these. I just don't like the softies like the Winn anymore. I had one set the wore out in less than a season and I've been carrying a grudge ever since.

I also use the Lamkin Crossline Sof-Cord putter grip. It really lets you know how you're contacting the ball.

I also tried the Winn soft grips on all my clubs last season and found, likewise, they didn't hold up very well. I hope the Multicompounds perform better.

I had been a big fan of the Tour Velvet cord grip but I've just tried the GP Decade and really like it. I'm also going to try their dual durometer cord grip. The Lamkin Dual Density looks good also but can't find them locally.

Wardbirdlover, did you every try the Dual Durometer Cord grips? If so, what's the verdict in comparison the the GP Decade Compound & Tour Velvet?

I use nothing but the Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control Tour, except on the flatstick, it has the Golf Pride Jumbo Classic on it.

When they first came out I used only the Golfpride Dual Decades but my only complaint is their durability. For the past several months I've been using the Lamkin Dual Density Torsion Control and I'm pretty impressed.

An older set of clubs I have, Nicklaus clubs, had Tour Velvet Wrap grips....they were sweet, but can't find them anymore......

just this summer i switched out my slot lines (which were at least 6 years old) to lamkin white slotlines. i like the feel of them, no glove, they are very soft as opposed to the slot lines which were much rougher. no build up tape under them, standard size.

Just switched grips on my irons 4 - 9 to GP ND Multicompound since the full cords were hurting my hands as the weather got colder. Left the full cords on my hybrids and wedges. I play GP Tour Velvets on my two woods. Swithcing really affected the swingweights as the ND MC are very light - had to take off some lead tape to match the swingweight back - was playing D2 now at D3 - shouldn't make much of a difference (I hope).
