When you say accuracy, do you mean straight toward the target, regardless of whether there was proper distance control? Would that include thins, tops, and fatsies? Does distance imply hitting a long ball or distance control? Does consistency mean making the same mistake every time? This poll makes my head hurt.

Like I said, where you are at right now with your swing, which one would you like to improve more? accuracy, distance, or consistency. if you have the distance set for all of your irons, you can be expect to be on the hole. yes, distance control and hitting a long ball are part of distance improvements. however, you need accuracy as well to be on the hole(if you distance is good).

consistency is something else. if you are at the stage(handicap 15 or lower) where you know you can hit a good shot(distance and accuracy) but can't seem to make it happen every time, that's when consistency comes in. that's not always what a low handicapper needs. sometimes their accuracy could be a little off and they want to improve it more. but they could always need a little more distance with their driver. point of this thread is, which key elements would you like to see more of.

I voted accuracy, but it's probably consistency.

There's always driving consistency too. Hit the ball 300 yards(which you potentially could do) every time.

Nah, my driving is fine. With enough accuracy, I can hit back-to-back 3-woods on even the shortest holes and have a tap-in birdie. Hey, this fantasy poll stuff is fun.

Let me explain this again. You can have the potential to hit the ball long, and you can have the potential to hit the ball accurate, but in order to win the golf game, you must have consistency every swing.

If you feel like your potential in hitting the ball accurately is not good, then choose accuracy. If you feel like you need more of these long and accurate shots, choose consistency. Hope I explained this a lot better...

I guess I chose accuracy because I could benefit from hitting more fairways (accuracy), greens (accuracy) and starting my putts on line (accuracy).

I voted consistency because I'll let the occasional (and by occasional, I mean constant) piss-poor contact muck up an otherwise decent stretch of golf. Nice drive, pure 3 wood, <100 yards left for a look at birdie and I'll chunk it into the creek in front of the green.

Definately consistency for me. You still can get around the course with a bad swing if your consistent with it.

If I would swing consistently, I would probably also be accurate and long.

Without a doubt, consistency. Being able to reproduce the same shot time and time again, whether it be a hook, slice, fade, draw or whatever, is the key to playing well in my opinion.

I'm not the most consistent golfer, but my game (as far as scoring goes) is pretty consistent. Consistently sucks, that is. lol
Putting is the worst.
If I could get some accuracy on my iron shots and chipping AND especially putting, I think I can play in the lower 80s consistently.
Oh, I'd love to get some accuracy.
