yea now that I think of it, the reason why I dont mind them on my driver but on my wedges I didnt like them is because on my wedges I choke down alot for chips. When my hands got sweaty it was very slick when I choked down.

Yeah, I actually use standard tour velvets on my wedges. I choke down a bit unless I'm taking a full shot so I won't get the full benefit out of having NDMC's on my wedges.

i have a question about grips but i dont feel like starting an entire new thread so i figure ill just ask on this one...

Not at all. A lot of people actually don't prefer the full chorded grips as they're rough on the hands. The benefit you get out of it though is that they are just about as durable as you can get. I don't have too much of a problem with the top half o my NDMC's tearing through my gloves. I go through a glove maybe every couple weeks or so or if I play a lot within one week.

Chorded grips are much rougher so a lot of times, you can get a better grip on it too. Its a difference in feel. Sticky tacky grips like the Tour Wrap 2G's are good grips because they're sticky...while corded grips are rougher and give you a firmer grip. If you have a fast and aggressive swing, you'll tear through soft grips. Likewise, I've found that tackier grips similar to Tour Wrap 2G's, if they get wet, are prety slippery. My old callaway fairway wood that was handed down from my dad had some soft wraps on them and after using them for a couple months, it was torn apart on the bottom half. Thus, NDMC's...top half is corded for durability and a nice firm grip on top half which won't mess your hand up since usualyl people wear gloves on their top hand...while the bottom half is a standard rubber grip like Tour velvet for a more comfortable feel.

itomic taki mac, and winn lite are both really great depending on what you like.

the stock ping grips are high quality as well. depends on your feel preference. some soft, some firm, some medium.

try some different stuff and see what you like best. it makes a difference.

If you are on a tight budget buy grips cheap off eBay or on sale/discontinued at your local golf store and change tjengrips yourself. It is not difficult at all. I buy Winn grips online (usually eBay) and change my own. Nothing but Inn for more than 15 years.

With a cadet medium size hand and slight arthritis, I re-gripped all my clubs, Driver thru SW, with the Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G Midsize grips........after a month I was getting used to the larger grip when I broke three graphite shafts on my irons (9, 6 & PW) over a month....they (PowerBilt) replaced the first two within a week. When I received the replacement, I had the midsize grip removed and put on the new club.....when the 3rd club broke.....they sent me an entire new set (4 - PW) and they replaced the stock grips with the Golf Pride Tour Velvet midsize grip.

So now I have my woods & hybrids + AW & SW with Tour Wrap 2G grips and my 4-PW with Tour Velvet grips.

Is this going to affect my game?

I play in Florida, so I wanted a grip that could handle the humid conditions and since I have a steel plate with 13 screws in my left wrist, I wanted a good shock absorption grip.

The Tour Velvet is more moisture control and less absortion.....but I think it's only slight.

Most people like the NDMC . Theyre super popular. I for some reason cant stand em. My earlier post was jsut showing that everyone likes different things. I dont like a cord grip. To me they feel slippery as hell. I only feel the cotton and not the rubber. i like an all rubber grip. And IF my tour wraps shred in a few months Ill put new ones on. They're $3 each.
Interestignly enough I htink every grip feels a little better with a little sweat on it. My hands NEVER get sweaty but for my wedges with titleist stock rubber grips I play them with no glove and sometimes I will wipe my hand in my hair to pick up a ltitle sweat and then grip the club.
