I'm thinking about piecing together a mini-set of clubs I can keep permanently in my car (not that my other set doesn't basically live there) and I'm wondering what kind of sunday bags folks on here like. I'm not looking to carry more than 5 clubs, probably just 4, a couple sleeves of balls, a couple gloves/tees and a bottle of water. I've got my eye on a sun mountain bag, anything else worth checking out?

I use my old Sun Mountain for that, but I only got my "1/2 set" down to 11 clubs.

I smallish old red, white, and blue Spalding bag which is nicely balanced and a Slazenger true sunday bag but it has a canvas shoulder strap (ouch). I always end up taking the SM.

Do you want a pencil bag type or one with a stand? Nike Pro Combo bag is about $40 before shipping and comes with a stand.

A pencil bag is a bag without stands LOL. I use this one :

http://www.golfbuyitonline.com/Title...-Carry-Bag.php . One of the few with a dual strap, 1 large pocket, one pocket that can fit 30 balls, a valuables pocket, and a drinks holder. Towel ring too.

I was actually looking at the Ogio Devolver on Ebay and it is a cart bag, lightweight cart bag or a sunday bag. It looked cool in the pics and the review I read was positive but I went with the Ogio Nexos instead,Ogio has great bags btw.

I was going to get one until I found stumbled upon the Ogio Sticks, which is only marginally larger/heavier than a Sunday bag, but can fit 14 clubs.

If you use one for playing a par 3 course, take along a 3W or 5W with you - even if you don't use it. One long club helps you balance and shift the bag on your back.

I need to get that.

I have my mom's old Sunday bag - from when she was a teenager. I don't use it regularly; at the moment, it is holding old clubs that are in my apartment and not my parents' basement. I plan to take it with me in a few days when I introduce a neighbor to the range.

I have yet to find it at a retailer so I don't exactly know how much it weighs. TGW.com lists the bag at 4 lbs but I highly doubt its that heavy.

Titleist makes some pretty great sunday bags I have one of theirs it's a collapsable. Like Will said, Ogio makes some pretty great bags for reasonable prices. They're nice quality for the most part minus the vaporlite.

The secret to using a Sunday bag is to take a wedge and put it in upside down. This balances the bag.( I remember this from when I played on Sunday's).

kiss my a$$! I joke, I joke. So I did go in to the golf shop and checked out some sunday bags. I really like the ping bag with the strap that sticks up, and the ogio one is also really nice. I can get them both for about $60

    • Day 38 (18 Dec 25) - got out in the backyard with grandson this afternoon.  We got into a little game of pitching the ball from about 25yds to a target point just off the asphalt lane behind the backyard.  Goal - just clear it with a quick hop and stop.  Focused on using the wedge swing motion I was talking with the course pro yesterday….smooth and thru just bruising the grass.  In addition to a concentrated focus on technique, it also called for a quiet mind locked in on target point.  Rehearsed this with both the 50° and 55° wedges.
    • I listened to the Shaun Webb one about the swing coach app. Sounds like a great thing and will (hopefully) be very useful for me. I do think the hosts are underestimating where AI could be in a few years. Right now it's just regurgitating stuff that it has been told or it has scrubbed from somewhere else and a human guiding things will be quite a lot more helpful than just the AI, but it's going to keep developing and it will reach the stage where it's figuring this stuff out on its own. Time will come when it will have you do a TPI style screen and take various height/arm length/leg length etc. measurements, have you tell it some history and your time constraints and goals and what not and it will watch a video of your swing face on and DTL and it will know exactly what you need to work on.
    • I found it entertaining, but the announcing was lousy.  How did the measuring on the final shot start with Rory being closer and being told he won, and then with no explanation it turns out Scottie won?  Weird.
    • Day 128 12-18 Worked on rotation and getting to lead side. Still working on the flow feeling while doing that. Recorded swings.
    • IMO-the only thing entertaining was the relay race. Everything else was excruciatingly boring...or just  stupid, like the 14-club thing. Watching guys blade wedges into the water over and over is not at all interesting.
