What sort of accent is saying "gawf" rather than "golf". I hear Haney say "gawf" all the time, and I was just watching golf destinations where the first pro the show keeps saying it. So, my question is- is this a regional thing? If so, what region?

Where's Curtis Strange from? He was back to back United States Gawf Association champion in the late 1980s.

it could be southern american, british, australian, or s. african. i contend that there are likely more people who pronounce it in this way than there are who enunciate the ''l.''
