Using any team playing against the Leafs as a way to judge the East is a waste of time.

This is true. But, being a Bruins fan I get great pleasure out of rooting for the Laffs to lose every time they play!

So that means you're pulling for the Habs tonight? Turn in your Bs fan card at the door.

Get out of here. Montreal is going to tank hard if Carey Price starts alot of games but I can and will root against Toronto no matter the opponent if it means we get to draft Adam Larsson all day long!

BTW, the opening thing for this MTL/TOR game is like the cheesiest thing ive everseen and it keeps gettint worse haha.

How do you think they invented poutine? Someone at a Habs opening ceremony held out an order of fries and gravy and cheese curds magically appeared.

Horray another season! I can get my hopes up that the Islanders will make the playoffs only to have them destroyed by Christmas

I have never seen a team that can so consistently play so poorly.

They have 4 cups. Tell your story to a Canucks fan.

Hahahaha! touche.

Four cups and all in a row, what a dynasty it was. I can just about say the same thing for their recent inability to make the playoffs as well... what a dynasty.

Opening weekend is over the Bruins start off .500, and it was the tale of two teams this weekend in Prague. First game, it seemed like B's were enjoying too many Pilsner Urquels the night before because they came out flat as can be and lost 5-2. Next day seemed like an entirely different team and all the players were giving it there all. Tim Thomas played exceptionally well notching his first shutout of the season in a 3-0 win sunday.

Other notables are:
Bruins new acquisition Nathan Horton has 3 goals in 2games.
Tyler Seguin Scored his first NHL goal on a break away which was the result of an excellent pass by Michael Ryder.

I didn't get a chance to watch either game this weekend, but I heard that Ryder played pretty well for a change on Sunday.

Bruins looked great on Sunday - Saturday not so much. Krecji, Bergeron, Seguin, and even Campbell down the middle look goooood. Defense both nights looked a bit rusty, but played a ton better on Sunday. Tuukka and Timmy will be just fine together.

Horton looks like a beast. This could be the year.

Every time I see the Bruins I just laugh now. This is coming from a Flyers fan so you should be able to understand ;)

Go Flyers!

Don't get upset - every fanbase was laughing at the Bruins last spring. Up 3-0 in game 7 after being up 3-0 in games - that's LOL funny and you know it! This a new season though.

Dont make me relive it... MY liver shutters at the thought of the thrashing it took when the flyers clawed back into that game followed by the prolonged alcohol consumption until I awoke facedown on a shag carpet :(

Think harder - was that really a shag carpet . . . aaaaaaargh!!!!!

Too bad about Savard - if he was healthy I'd have put money on them reaching the Eastern final.

I was at the Lightning home opener last Sat Night when they shelacked the Thrashers. Watched them beat Montreal last night in OT, and will be watching and cheering tonight as they play the Flyers.

New Owner, New GM, New Coach......picked up Simon Gagne during free agency.....he's skating very well with Vinny. Now we just need a primetime goalie.

Go BOLTS!

It looks so wrong seeing Gagne wearing a Lightning jersey. He was one of my favorite Flyers but could never stay healthy. I am excited to watch the game tonight, I wish Bobrovsky was getting the start again though.

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
    • I managed to knock off a 3, a 13, and a 15 a couple of weeks ago. The 3 was a 185 yard par 3 with a 6 iron to 12 feet. 13 was a 350 yard par 4, which was a 2 iron and a 9 iron to about a foot. 15 was a 560 yard par 5 with a driver in a bunker, 4 iron into the semi, gap wedge to 8 feet and a putt.
