Searching for new set of irons...

This off season I've decided to invest in a new set of irons to replace the irons that came with my boxed set. I've got everything replaced in that boxed set except my irons which is obviously the biggest bite out of the wallet. I've got it narrowed down to four sets.

-Cobra S2 Max($350 on TGW)
-Nike Victory Red($400 on TGW, Golfsmith)
-Callaway X20($400 on TGW, Golfsmith)
-GigaGolf PowerMax GX922($200)

If you have any comments on one of the sets or any recommendations they would be much appreciated. Also, I've never bought anything off of TGW or Golfsmith so if you have any past experiences with one of them good or bad feel free to comment.

I love the VR split cavities, I know when I hit a bad shot and most of the time I know why. I had the full cavities first and I wasn't satisfied.

Golfsmith is a good site, might want to check ebay, and rock bottom golf as well.

EDIT- Rock bottom golf has the VR full cavities and the Callaway X-20's for 329.99

VR split cavities if those are your only options but also take into consideration the Callaway X-forged. They are $400 at RBG.

I absolutely love my Callaway X20's. Easy to hit, but much more feel than the true game improvement irons. I love the combination of control and forgiveness in these X20's.

The Golf Warehouse, Golfsmith, and Edwin Watts are great places to buy from. Carls Golf is a great place too. I got my wife some clubs from there at a great price.

Also, check out the Callaway Preowned site. That is where all my Callaway clubs come from. They will adjust length, loft, grips, etc.. before shipping if you contact them. If you buy "like new" you are buying brand new in shrink wrap. There is a set of X20's 3-PW in average condition for $249 if you don't mind buying used. These are something you will be beating the ground with after all. Ha ha...

My brother has the X 20s and he loves them. I have hit with them several times and they feel very nice. They are forgiving and make it easy to get the ball in the air.

When all else fails, go to a store and try them out. Irons are definitely a feel thing and getting fitted is a huge deal.

I'm a big fan of the Nike VR's though.

I haven't hit the Cobra S2 Max before but I have hit the regular S2. Good feel for a game improving club. If you don't mind used I have a set of Callaway X-20 4-P irons I'm going to be selling for rather cheap. They're in good condition (8.5/10).

I have been using the Cleveland XLi's HiBore. They look a little odd but they have improved my game. Very high and straight. Also added length. Not very good to chip with though but actually don't need to chip all that much anymore. Hitting more greens from anywhere on the course. (I struggle with straight drives occasionally). I need to figure out which ball works best for my game now.

Do you know if they adjust the lie and length for free ? or is there a charge ?
