I like how the argument why Rickie shouldn't have won rookie of the year is very similar to the one about why Lee Westwood shouldn't be number one.

Difference being that Westwood has won. 4 times in the last 14 months. Tiger has only one once in that period and that event wasn't as big as any the events Lee won.

In fact, the arguments are almost exactly opposite.

Westwood is number 1 because his average points score, within the collar and cap of numbers of events and the erosion with time as dictated by the OWGR rules, is higher than anyone elses over the past 2 years. Americans hate that because he is (a) not Tiger, (b) not a PGA Tour member and (c) not American. Fowler is number 1 because he played more events, although scoring less money or points on average per event, than Rory, and including an element of nationalistic jingoism thrown in. Rory's perfermance in the events he played was better. Fowler is a great prospect, but he hasn't won yet, and could be the next David Gossett. Oh, wait, unlike Gossett, Fowler hasn't won yet.

Rubbish. You just don't have a coherent answer. I don't give a monkey's about ROY, and it seems neither does Rory, but FWIW I agree with Westwood. The award is a vote, so it is just a popularity contest and an opportunity for the PGA Tour players to show their prejudices.

Haven't read it, and at 200+ replies, don't plan to. I assume it is about Gmac being lucky and Tiger going to make a major comeback next year. I was in the US while the Chevron was on, but because it is an irrelevant silly season event, only saw the play-off. Gmac winning it fair and square really stuck in the craw of the

commentators announcers, didn't it? A lot of the crowd showed themselves up too with their narrow minded attitudes. As for Tiger, he behaved with a lot of class, but I will not be betting any money on him winning any majors next season. His dominance will never reach its previous peak again.

Basically the bulk of the US based PGA Tour members who voted, voted for Ricky. It's not as if Fowler was completely unqualified to be considered. I'm sure if the shoe was on the other foot, and this two horse race took place in Europe, Rory would have won the vote. Who cares!?!? BTW, losing in a playoff is "having your assed handed to you" since when?

This where you are completely wrong, pressure can only be applied to ones self. If anything, tiger lost belief in his own abilities. I am patriotic but I do not say your country is crap because my my patriotism, like you do about ours. I have no problem with Europe or their golfers. One thing I would say is. I like Graeme Mcdowell, hes a great player and has a good personality. I think hes a nice guy as well. Right now Graeme is in the prime of his game, hes never played better. Right now Tiger is struggling to get his game back. Sure Graeme beat Tiger in a playoff, but like I said Graeme is in the prime of his game, Tiger is practicing/playing to get his game back with a whole new swing. Now put Tiger up against Graeme when they are both in their prime, Graeme doesnt even have a chance. Yea its something Mcdowell can say, that he beat Tiger, but it would really have some meaning if Tiger was actually where he usually is with his game. Its kind of like playing with the partner who always beats you but injures his arm and you beat him in a round.

btw. Im not sure if I spelled Graeme right, also Im not sure if this is related to what everyones talking about, lol, just wanted to say it
