The reverse of Wood's fist pump. That is, his first pump is to pumps his fists up. I only do one pump and I pull mine down.

Have you tried to hold your fist still (relative to the ground) and jump up and down? That would be the real reverse Tiger fist pump.

That would be funny, but no, I haven't tried that. I can't even keep my head still when I swing, how could I keep my fist still while jumping? :-D

Funny you mention this.  I've been working on my fist pump with some slow-mo video.  I've found that I'm pronating my wrist as I land when trying the "hold fist still and jump" style.

I'm going back to stack and tilt fist pumps.  The forearm center pivot of my body to the earth's single plain just isn't getting it done.

Have you read the new fist pump laws?  Blows away anything Johnny Miller ever said.  When he critiques fist pumps now I cringe and hit the mute button.

Whatever you do, just make sure you don't pull a Bill Gramatica:

(FWIW the announcers say Martin Gramatica, it's actually his brother, Bill).

If you can't pull off a trap pump, you can't play this game.

I once called a celebration on the tee. I said I was going to birdie this hole, and when my putt rolled in I was going to start walking and then running and then break into a vicious Tiger fist pump.

I did it. The fist pump is classic.

But I'm a fan of the understated fist pump with a look of pure determination. The soft fist pump, the understated confidence...

I will keep on walking to the hole and pick up the ball.   Occasionally, I will say "yeah" and lightly clench my fist and give a half way pump.  I.e, I don't celebrate much.   On the other hand, my wife will yell and jump up when she makes a long putt.  People in the neighboring holes will know.

I always do the weird Phil 'thumbs up', the way he holds his hand leads me to believe it's very unnatural for him and yet he always does it, either that or the weird 'tip of the cap' , I never wear a hat. I just love how everything Mickelson does always seems so awkward.
