What are the main causes of the big driver blocks? Ball flight for other clubs is basically straight (minor draw or fade)

could be a number of reasons.

equipment (shaft too stiff), weak grip (leaving clubface open), swinging w/ the arms/hands (coming over the top), your setup (open clubface or stance).....

since you are hitting straight w/ your other clubs, my guess would be you are swinging too hard (using hands/arms) w/ the driver. try swinging the driver w/ the same tempo as your irons.

Driver: Taylormade r7
Irons: Mizuno MX-200
Wedges: 60*8 & 56*14*
3,5 wood: r7
Putter: Odyssey white ice

Actually, I seemed to be too late with my hands.  Dropping the hands a little more quickly helped out quite a bit

Like hacker said, there are a number reasons that cause this. The main cause for me (and most I think) is when the head translates forward on the downswing, steepening the swing and making it harder to make the face more square at impact. If it's wide open relative to your swing path, boom, push slice.

David Wedzik touches on this in the Golf Evolution driver video at 2:46:

Obviously without video, it's impossible to definitively say what you're doing, but the one thing we do know is that the face is pointed severely to the right at impact, and that face angle is also open relative to the swing path.

EDIT: And specifically to you, for the block, the face is open relative to the target line, but square to the path. I'm sure you know that by now, but just adding it in for the newer members and lurkers.
