I always liked his swing, and he is a nice guy, but this is pretty awesome of him

We do alot of work with a company in Japan, very sad what they are enduring right now.   It's a very generous and kind gesture, I'll definitely be rooting for Ishikawa now.

I just became even more of an Ishikawa fan.  I always liked him for his game and now it appears that he is a class act as well.  Hopefully he has a big year.

Most of his earnings come off the course anyway. He is only giving Japan his pocket money. He is still great for doing this though. Lot's of respect for him

Maybe so, but it's ~ $2 million (depending on how things work out) all the same, and it generates publicity that will work as advertising and probably result in more donations.

I gave my $20 of pocket money to the cause, apparently he has a somewhat larger pocket.  :-)

Exactly.  He doesnt HAVE to give them anything but he is chosing to.  Its a pretty awesome thing considering he is still just a 19 year old kid.

I wish I could afford to give more money too.  Ive given about $100 to the Red Cross, bought one of those, "pray for Japan" bracelets and have attended a few fundraiser dinners.  Wish I could do more.

I lived in Miyagi (hardest his region) for three years, and I spent two years in Natori --- which got hit pretty hard by the tsunami.  So I think Ishikawa just became my favorite golfer.  I hope he does particularly well this year --- maybe he can get a 59 on this side of the Pacific!

A class move by Ryo.  I love to watch his swing and will now pay attention even more!

Ishikawa seems like a down-to-earth guy. Giving away his 2011 earnings is a really nice way to help his country and probably encourage others to contribute as well.
