I carry a dozen, I don't lose that many usually but like to be prepared for it to happen, and I own less than a dozen I buy a new box.

I allow myself ONE sleeve of new balls per round ... if I lose those, I have to dig into the bottom of the ball bag & play old ratty found balls.    It's a good incentive to play in control and not lose balls...

I like that concept.  Think I will try it.

Similarly in terms of incentive, if I see I've got a straight forward pitch from just off the green I don't even take my putter.  If I can't hit a simple pitch inside the leather, I have to putt with a bladed wedge as my punishment.  Usually works out fine.

What's in the Bag:
Driver: Taylormade SLDR 12*
3-wood: Taylormade Burner 15*
Hybrid: Taylormade Burner 19*
Irons: Callaway XR

Wedges: Vokey 50*, 54*, 58*
Putter: Scotty Newport Studio

If you don't have your putter, with what do you putt if you do hit it "inside the leather".....?

Blade the tap in or pick it up.  We don't mess around.  Like to play in under three hours.  The exception are the money games where there are no gimmies unless the ball is literally sitting on the lip.

You're a lot better putter than I am if you consider a 2 foot, inside-the-leather putt to be a "tap in".  But then, you're also a lot better chipper than I am too in that you expect to get most of your chips from the fringe inside of 2 feet......

FWIW though, pace of play is the absolute worst excuse for not putting out.  If it really is a "tap in", it takes no time at all. ;-)

Sorry, back on topic....  I keep one sleeve of new balls in my bag and probably 6 or 8 balls that have survived one round clean and intact.  I start with a new ball each round and if it's lost, I'll move to a clean "one-round" ball that has proven to me that it understands the importance of staying in play! :-)

I keep 9 balls in the bag. 2 sleeve's new and 3 leftover balls.

I keep a dozen or two at home new. 100 ball used for the shag bag

Since I'm using a pushcart and the weight doesn't matter, I just fill up my ball compartment. 20-ish balls or something.

At home I've got 3 boxes of new balls and a bag of used ones I bought some time ago.

Hmm, that is a really good idea.  I may have to start doing that...  Thanks!

I have been carrying a dozen.  I am a newer golfer that is very inconsistent, I can play 18 with 1 ball and then play a round a few days later and lose 6.  I buy in bulk so I usually have 2-3 dozen at the house in the living room that has since been converted to a putting green.

I carry about 10 "new" balls in my bag. As for what I have at home, it probably numbers in the 800-1000 range. These are all balls I have used during my golf career, and/or found on the course. I have a couple of large trash cans that are full of used balls. I still have 4 cartons of new, un-used balls I need to get rid of. I guess that makes me a hoarder of golf balls.

In My Bag:
A whole bunch of Tour Edge golf stuff......

    • I mean there has to be some thought. For eg., something like 'soft knees and wrists' at set up and maybe a dynamic 'left arm to chin' as a trigger to start DS. I have these one or two anchor thoughts and have served me well. In fact, my wildest swings are the one where I have no thoughts or if I forget to walk thru my anchor thoughts. In contrast my best rounds are where I am consistent with the anchor thoughts.    OTOH, if I am running my entire half hour lesson (hypothetical) with some pro that I had last Saturday or whatever before every swing then I'm probably in trouble before I even get over the ball.
    • Two bits. Bit 1 The NCAA's appeal of Brendan Sorsby being granted a temporary injunction will not be heard until February, so there will be nothing to prevent Sorsby from playing the full season and potential CFP.  Bit 2 The Big Ten Conference will hold a meeting and is expected to ban all of its athletic programs from playing Texas Tech in the regular season. Georgia has done the same. The SEC will meet to consider a similar ban. Fellow Big 12 members TCU and Kansas State are spearheading a similar ban, but the conference charter might not allow it. Meanwhile, Big 12 athletic directors are meeting this week to explore what options the conference might have.
    • No, but I'm also in disagreement that golfers have no thoughts over the golf ball, and/or don't ever think I've met someone I truly believe is thinking nothing but "target" or something on most shots.
    • StuM,  I have, in the past, added a left handed club. (Ususally a 7 iron) However, I usually take a stroke penalty and move the ball to where I want it.  I play for fun and in a pinch can use theback side if my club if I don't want the penalty stroke.    RetiredOldMan,  Terry
