Did anyone see the Golf Fix the other day on driving?  He got on the Titleist tour truck and had a little interview with their guy in charge of regripping.  I don't believe I've seen such a salty individual with such poor communication skills lol  Michael Breed looked like he actually got lost in the interview a few times and didn't know where to go with the dryness

It was one of the WORST EVER!!! It was almost to the point that it seems like he didnt want to do it. He kept answering the questions before Breed was done answering it. What a nightmare that must have been for Breed. OUCH

If the guy was in charge of regripping clubs, I doubt he really needs to have any significant social skills to be good at his job. I am not even sure why Breed would interview him.

My thoughts exactly.

You guys probably didn't see it then. It was a disaster. When agreeing to a interview and trying to promote your brand, it might be in your and your company's best interest to have a glimmer of interpersonal skills and amping up your brand's products. Breed interviewed him because he was doing an entire show over driving, and a integral part of hitting any club is having proper grips.

God this forum is probably takes the cake for dullest website ever.

alright, lets stick a camera in your face at your job. Keep in mind this is national television that hundreds of thousands of people would watch. He was just a little uncomfortable and gave one word answers, it wasnt that bad. If your expecting some elaborate poetic words from the grip guy on the bus then I dont know what to tell you,

God, this is the dullest comment ever from the dullest person ever. As my grandkids say, "whatevs!"

If the guy works in a fitting van performing club regripping he probably isn't from the sales and marketing department.  Part of Breed's job is pre-interview the guy and make sure he's interview worthy.  Either the guy got stage fright or Breed didn't do his job properly to begin with.

In either case what does that have to do with the website being dull?

To be fair to Breed, that's actually the job of the show's producer.      But I have to agree the interview wasn't Titleist putting its best foot forward.

Maybe he means the colors. Anyone in favor of bright pinks, yellows, and other colors? White, grey, dark green... I agree, somewhat dull!

    • Never practiced golf when I was young and the only lesson ever taken was a driver lesson. I feel like I'm improving every year. However, the numbers don't support my feeling about improving. I usually drop to 12-13 during the summer while playing the familiar courses around home and then go on golf trips in the fall to new courses and increase to end the year between 15-17. Been a similar story for a number of years now but hey, it's the best thing there is in life so not too bothered but reaching 9.9 is the objective every year. Maybe a few lessons and practice could help me achieve it since I pretty much have no idea what I'm doing, just playing and never practice.
    • I am semi-loyal. Usually buy four dozen of one ball and only play that until out and then determine whether to continue or try another one. Since starting my semi-loyal path to success, I've been playing the below, not in order: ProV1 ProV1x ProV1x left dash AVX Bridgestone BXS Srixon Z-star XV I am not sure if it has helped anything, but it gives a bit of confidence knowing that it at least is not the ball (while using the same one) that gives different results so one thing less to mind about I guess. On the level that I am, not sure whether it makes much difference but will continue since I have to play something so might as well go with the same ball for a number of rounds. Edit: favorite is probably the BXS followed by ProV1/Srixon Z-star XV. Haven't got any numbers to back it up but just by feel.
    • Will not do it by myself, going to the pro shop I usually use after Cristmas for input and actually doing the changes, if any, but wanted to get some thoughts on whether this was worthwhile out of curiosity.
    • In terms of ball striking, not really. Ball striking being how good you are at hitting the center of the clubface with the swing path you want and the loft you want to present at impact.  In terms of getting better launch conditions for the current swing you have, it is debatable.  It depends on how you swing and what your current launch conditions are at. These are fine tuning mechanisms not significant changes. They might not even be the correct fine tuning you need. I would go spend the $100 to $150 dollars in getting a club fitting over potentially wasting money on changes that ChatGPT gave you.  New grips are important. Yes, it can affect swing weight, but it is personal preference. Swing weight is just one component.  Overall weight effects the feel. The type of golf shaft effects the feel of the club in the swing. Swing weight effects the feel. You can add so much extra weight to get the swing weight correct and it will feel completely different because the total weight went up. Imagine swinging a 5lb stick versus a 15lb stick. They could be balanced the same (swing weight), but one will take substantially more effort to move.  I would almost say swing weight is an old school way of fitting clubs. Now, with launch monitors, you could just fit the golfer. You could have two golfers with the same swing speed that want completely different swing weight. It is just personal preference. You can only tell that by swinging a golf club.
    • Thanks for the comments. I fully understand that these changes won't make any big difference compared to getting a flawless swing but looking to give myself the best chance of success at where I am and hopefully lessons will improve the swing along the way. Can these changes make minor improvements to ball striking and misses then that's fine. From what I understood about changing the grips, which is to avoid them slipping in warm and humid conditions, is that it will affect the swing weight since midsize are heavier than regular and so therefore adding weight to the club head would be required to avoid a change of feel in the club compared to before?
