Best Swing : Ernie Els (by far)
Beautiful : Steve Elkington
Ugly: Greg Norman - looks like a cross between Elaine dancing on Seinfeld and a robot.
In my bag:
Driver : 905R 9.5*
3 Wood: Big Bertha Titanium 15*
5 Wood: Big Bertha Titanium 19*
Irons : 755Wedges: Vokey 50* Wedges: 588 DSG 56* Putter: 2 Ball Lined Blade 35Ball : ProV1

Anyone who bothers to endure the early rounds of the AT&T; will find plenty of ugly swings along with the antics of celebrity golf buffons.

Bury me with a golf glove in my pocket - just in case!

I will definately be "enduring" the early rounds... I love watching the Pro Ams. I used to volunteer at the Pebble Beach Pro Am while I was stationed in Monterey - good times. Good times.

I have to agree with Ogg... Ernie Els has such a smooth effortless swing - if I could emulate one pro's swing, it would be his.

I lived in Monterey for 14 years and the corp. I worked for was a sponsor of the AT&T; so I worked the ropes a lot of times. The fact that I was becoming very enthusiastic about golf at the time aided my distaste for the way celebrities treat the event and disrespect the game.

At the same tiime, I know that's why they are there and how much money they bring in, so I should probably temper my comments a bit. It's like anything alse; a handful of jerks (Bill Murray, Kevin James stand out) can ruin it for many.

Beautiful swings: Adam Scott, CHIII and Jason Gore.
Rivaling Barkley for horror is the obese slob Chris Berman who not only butchers a golf course, but makes an absolute mockery of the time he spends in the booth at the US Open by way of his ESPN contract.

Bury me with a golf glove in my pocket - just in case!

best - gotta be tiger. he can hit it any way you want it. low, high, cut, draw - his swing allows him to produce whatever result is needed.

beautiful - fred funk. i love watching him play. he's got such great balance and tempo. really effortless, and it's a compact, controlled move.

ugly - alan doyle. no points for style, almost painful to watch. but the man can golf his ass off, so i give him respect where it due.

    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲

    • Why wouldn't it have? It's not like you were playing it as a 145yd par 5 and made a 2 or something.  Or not like it was playing 50yds to a temporary green or something either.
