On par 4's my tee shot is always based on getting to the right distance to leave me an easy 8 iron in to the green. Anytime I pull my 8 iron I am super confident of getting the results I'm looking for.

Off the tee box any chance I get I will hit my hybrid or 3 wood. My driver is like a tuxedo..... for special occasions only

8 iron, hybrid, 3 wood are my go to clubs. The more I can play those clubs in a round the better I will score.

What’s yours?

3 iron and 8 iron for myself, I used to be addicted to my 3 wood but over the last season I started replacing a lot of my 3 wood tee shots with 3 iron tee shots and found that I am more confident over the ball and quite a few times i'm in a better situation for my approach.

4 iron. Easier to hit than my 3 wood or utility club. Kinda weird. But hey, that's my game.

I really like my nine iron (have a hole in one with it along with a couple of close calls...).

However, I have to go with the drive for my go to club. Ever since I purchased my Titleist I have been just crushing the ball with a slight fade (which works best for most of my courses here...).

When I'm on with the driver, I'm going to have a good day.

Off the tee - 5 wood off the deck, straight as an arrow.
But my go to club and my new best friend is my wedge. If my wife would let me I'd sleep with it!

Off the tee, it's my driver (R7 460). It's long and accurate. On bad days it seems like it's the only thing I can hit.

Off the deck my hybrid (TM Rescue Dual 25 degree 5i replacement)

In close, my sand wedge (especially if I can take a full swing and drop one in)

In really close - nothing, I can't chip to save my life!

What's in my bag?

Used to be my 8 iron, but for the last few months my 9 Iron has been my money club. Don't really know why, but I am using more for a variet of shots. I cna stop it FAST if need be and fly it hihg or low. It is odd...for my first 4 years playing, it has always been my eight.

Have to say the 9 Iron though

I would have to say my driver. Except out of the nasty. Then it is my 6 iron. That thing is more beat up than a New York Hooker. Whenever I have to get it back onto the fairway, out of the gunk (desert courses) I reach for the 6 iron.

I guess if I my driver weren't my go to club, I probably wouldn't need my 6 iron as much.

    • Day 120 - Played 18; much better than yesterday. Miss right now is off the heel of the club, so I need to sort that out.
    • Today we played Pease Golf Course in Portsmouth, NH. Course was in great shape but my game didn't show up. I will say I pitched and chipped fairly well but almost everything else was very hit or miss. Cost myself a lot hitting an in play drive with pulling my approach shots maybe 85% of the time. Finally figured out I had been swaying most of the round. Only took me until 13 to figure it out. Used what felt like a much more centered turn and the ballstriking improved. 18 tomorrow using a 2 man scramble format. Just looking to contribute. Been a blast though.
    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
