Making the switch to a forged blade made me a better golfer though. My practice became a lot more productive and my good shots became more and more consistent. It really was an eye opening experience. It's a great feeling when you put a good move on the ball and just know that you knocked it stiff. I get that feeling more often with my blades than I ever did with my i3's (even though I had a lower handicap with the i3's -- a result of practice, not equipment).

One problem that actually drove me to blades was offset. I had two types of ball flight with my Pings, slight draw and hook! I had to really work hard to move the ball left to right. With my irons now my natural flight is a tiny fade which is exactly the way I want it!

Maybe, but for an 18 year old making $8 bucks an hour that isnt a viable option lol. Thanks though!

Do you think that this makes sense? Really?

Look, I get what you're saying, but yes, it's entirely possible that you can "find the sweet spot" with one set of clubs but not with another.

For example, I once hit a bunch of six irons with a heavy shaft and then the same six iron with a lighter (the Nippon IIRC) shaft. Couldn't find the sweet spot at all with the Nippon, found it every time with the DG S300.

Probably not the case here, but it's possible, and Shorty, sometimes people deserve the benefit of the doubt.

Get a used set of titlist 690 mb and re shaft them to your liking then go the fitted and bent to your specs. might cost you 400 vs 1,400. I like the look of the miura 1957 baby blade but because of it's reduced size it will have reduced mass therefore will fly shorter. Im sure with it's low carbon steel it will feel great but who cares if it performs ok or just as good. I think as of 2014 the taylormade tour prefreed looks nice! This is an old thread though so id say titleist 690 mb would have been your best choice.

i would love to be able to spend that much but right now going to college that doesnt make sense for me.  $600 for 710 mb's i think is more than fair...from a shop I might add, not some ebay knock offs.

So right now heres how my order looks

3-P 710 MB

50/08 Vokey

56/11 Vokey

58/11 Vokey

60/07 Vokey or Nike SV 60/10

Titleist 17* 910H or Taylormade 18* Rescue

possibly Callaway Razr Hawk Tour with Fujikura Tour Platform 26.3 stiff

with driver it would cost a little less than $1400

Do you really want a bounce of 7 on a 60 degree wedge?  I like a lot of bounce on my 60.  Makes it much more forgiving and usable out of the sand.  Of course my handicap vs yours might explain my preference.

    • I found it odd that both Drs. (Raymond Prior and Greg Rose) in their separate videos gave the same exact math problem (23 x 12), and both made the point of comparing block practice to solving the same exact math problem (23 x 12) over and over again. But I've made the point that when you are learning your multiplication tables… you do a bunch of similar multiplications over and over again. You do 7 x 8, then 9 x 4, then 3 x 5, then 2 x 6, and so on. So, I think when golf instructors talk about block practice, they're really not understanding what it actually is, and they're assuming that someone trying to kinda do the same thing is block practice, but when Dr. Raymond Prior said on my podcast that what I was describing was variable practice… then… well, that changes things. It changes the results of everything you've heard about how "block" practice is bad (or ineffective).
