Strangely enough, when I moved to Texas for a couple years not too long ago I wasn't bothered by being away from my family.... Sometimes I think about that and it bothers me now that it didn't bother me then... Truth be told, though, most days I just work and go home anyway so I don't really see my family much outside of the holidays so that probably is a major reason.

I see family every day. Work for the family. Take care of certain things that I'm uniquely capable of. Leaving isn't an option. Not to sound whist-full about it. I've lived away and generally like it here. Winter tries my patience more than it used to, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Our family is actually driving us crazy. We moved back here when our daughter was born 18.5 years ago so that the kids could grow up seeing their family. Now it's time to blow this joint. Angie's Mom has landed herself back in the hospital on 1/4 after letting a diabetic ulcer get out of control. She had her leg amputated, and now won't do what the doctors are instructing her. She will be back in before long (she gets out tomorrow) to have her other foot amputated. The wife is at wits end and we never see my family much anyway. My daughter is settled in to school and my son is eager to move.  C'est La Vie Dayton!

p.s. - As much as it sounds like we are running away from our problems, this is really about finding a better opportunity. The job really sucks under the new ownership, and there just is nothing here.

Who's going out this weekend? @saevel25@Jeremie Boop@mcanadiens@missitnoonan

With 16-20+ mph winds I'll probably have to pass.

That's today. Tomorrow should be more tame, at least down here.

I just looked before responding, dayton shows 16 mph and up here it shows 21. Of course if it changes I may have to reconsider.

That's typical for this time of year though, so I wouldn't consider it high.

Down to one day off per week and that day is tomorrow. Definitely going to play.

One thing. Eagle is a roaring bitch in any kind of wind. I'm thinking Community.

We were going to go to Homestead, but they are not opening until tomorrow. What time are you playing?

Glad we tee'd off earlier. The crowd was behind us and we made it around in about 3.5 hours skipping the last 4holes. We would have made it faster if not for a really slow foursome that we caught up to.

Last time played in 2015 was 12/24 and first time out in 2016 was 2/20 making it less than a 2 month winter break. Not bad. Shot a 41 on the front with a double on the first hole. As I said, we skipped the last 4 holes, but I was 1 over for the 5 holes we played on the back (2 bogeys and and a birdie). Too bad I missed the eagle putt on 14. The greens and fairways were REALLY shaggy, but it was good to get out.

I've been out a few times over the winter, but it was like day one yesterday. Horrible. Couldn't hit a thing that wasn't on a tee.

Time to put Humpty back together again.

I went to my club fitting yesterday. I hit way too many golf balls. Today, even though it is nice out, is a day of rest now.

Though from the GC2, my miss right now is a slight push. Which compared to my snap hook or big block slice is a big improvement for me. Just got to keep trudging along.

Who do you go to?

I've got a borrowed 3W that I've got to get out of my bag. Trying to decide how much money I can blow on it.

    • Attempting to lift. Any better?
    • Day 82: mirror work again tonight. Working on the same shoulder down and roll and twist stuff. Going on vacation tomorrow and putting the clubs down, so new streak starts in about 10 days!
    • Day 44, June 17.  Today was some preliminary stretching, exploring what I'll want to set up as a regular routine (both while on vacation without clubs and when I'm back) (aside: this is part of an upcoming goal to stretch daily in a meaningful way, but I don't plan to count it as practice on days that I can meaningfully practice with a club)
    • Having a rough week. Went to the Dr. because I was really weak and could hardly swing my driver.  I take Propranolol 20 mg tablets twice a day. Seems like the Propranolol was driving my pulse down (low 50's).  So we cut the dosage in half and I started taking my blood pressure. It was a little high but pulse came up.   Then yesterday I raised it to 15 mg tab by taking it 3 times a day. Blood pressure 127 / 77 Pulse 75.  Heading out tomorrow morning for 18 holes.    I have my driver set at 10.5* but seem to have my swing speed to low and I can't get the lift on the ball I need.  I have not played this week in hopes I will have the strength to raise my swing speed. I may have to raise my loft to 12* . (I will take my driver wrench) tomorrow. (This Parkinson's is a pain in the butt.)  Will give you a report when I get back.    Retired Old Man, Terry
    • You still got to lift your arms. You basically just roll your wrist over in the 1st half of the backswing.
