That place has been for sale for a long time. I'm afraid it will be torn down and mad into something else.

Oh yeah. No question about that now. Paper suggested senior citizen housing.

Here's to hoping the rain holds off. It's going to be pretty soggy out there I'm thinking. Cart path only maybe.

Oh yeah. Carts. I remember those. Damn near died walking Hawk today. I think I lost 10 pounds in sweat.

If it's playable. I'll be playing.

So I missed the opportunity of taking a picture of all but the top of the flag being under water. I took this picture and tried to get as close as I could to the same picture on google maps.

It's hard to tell but that ground slopes down anywhere from 6-10 feet as it gets further from the road. The green you can see in the picture on the right is where all but the top 20" of the flag stick was under water. I don't know how long it will take for the course to recover from this, especially considering there is supposed to be more rain yet this week. From what I understand almost every course in this area has at least one hole that is like these. there are probably 3 or 4 greens under at least a few feet of water in just this area of this course. I think I'll be travelling out of town to do any golfing in the next few weeks to a month.

No, it's Lost Creek. The course my league is on will probably be shut down for a few weeks at least. I haven't been out by there but I'm fairly certain all of 18 fairway and tee, most of 9 fairway and green, all of 10 tee and green are under water. And the water has been high for basically all week already with more rain all the way through the weekend and beginning of next week. I don't imagine I'll be able to golf anywhere in or around Lima for awhile.

It sure looks like they lost a creek and gained a river.

I'd say they lost a creek and gained a lake.

This weather is killing me... It's been years since we've gotten this much rain over such an extended period of time. While I don't mind driving down to towards Dayton for golf on the weekends there's no way I can do that during the week and even trying to do range work isn't feasible because the range isn't covered well enough to be out of the rain. I know I can work on drills and such inside, but I like to check how the changes are progressing in my full speed swing also. Not to mention being stuck in the house really sucks. At some point I'm probably going to break down and try to make an indoor hitting area with some sort of launch monitor for times like this and through the winter so I can keep working on my swing. #golfaddict

Yeah, it's pretty bad. Thankfully (for us) the rain is staying up north. One of the good things about Kittyhawk is that it drains really fast being on top of the aquifer.

Unlike Kittyhawk, Beavercreek holds water. Cartpath only last evening. I might have taken a divot larger than my clubhead once, maybe twice ;)

It's been coming down pretty good for most of the day here in Beavercreek. Even the mighty Kittyhawk could be a tough play today. Hopefully it dries up a bit by this weekend.

On the other hand, I suppose Community won't see the bottoms of their bunkers for another three weeks.

Pretty much. You'd need power tools to bust up the all the compacted sand that has been in them. I am shocked they haven't filled in yet.

What's the weather look like this weekend down that way? If I don't get some sort of golf in I may lose my mind, what little there is left of it.

Well damn.

Actually I think the front is going to move a bit south than what they predicted about 6 hours ago.

First one is 8AM - 2PM, estimated 6 hour rainfall. 6 hours ago it was right over the Miami Valley. Now it looks like it's shifting south and delayed for later in the day. The 2nd one is 2PM - 8PM. 1.5 inches of rain in a 6 hour period is pretty substantial. You typically do not see teal color on the QPF images.

Given the fact that I'm supposed to be taking possession of my new clubs this week I'm going to just assume the weather will not cooperate. Such is my normal luck.
