It's nice to get a chance to play on a course that's ranked nationally, that's why I played where I did in NJ. However, it appears Oakland hills is much nicer than the courses I was able to play.

It definitely is. Service there is top notch. I started the day in the locker room dropping off my shoes to be shined up. I don't think they were that clean when I bought them. Then we had gourmet burgers and other deliciousness on the veranda. We didn't have a chance to go to the range since they started us 50 minutes early because of the heavy rain coming in. I loosened up with an original Arnie Palmer with Grey Goose (mostly Grey Goose) and a nice cigar. We got five holes in before the torrential rains came in. I can't think of a better place to hang out during a rain delay. I made sure that I consumed a steady stream of swing lube in the form of more Grey Goose. They reopened the range and let us go play a few holes on the North Course before we headed back out to finish our round on the South. Then we loaded our clubs and went back to the locker room to freshen up before a feast of awesome food. Then there is the long drive back home. I got there about 1 AM.

This is what golf is meant to be. You just have to be prepared for a major butt kicking.

I hope I get to experience something like that some day. Sounds like an exceptional day.

It's nice having the job I have. I get some invites to awesome courses. Next week, I get to play Kings Island.

I find it odd that I shoot 50 at Kittyhawk tonight. The rough is ridiculous long again and the greens are like trampolines. I hit shots into greens at Oakland Hills that would hit and stop, but at Shittyhawk, the bounce and fly away. I had 4 ball marks that were pin high tonight and had over 20' to pitch or putt. I said goodbye to my bar girl friend. I'm done.

My league course is notorious for rock hard greens. I was screwed no less than 5 times last week by massive bounces off the green on what would otherwise have been really good approach shots anywhere else. I've been spoiled by how soft the course had played from all the rain. The course isn't nicknamed "Springrock" for nothing....

Have you played Hawthorn Hills or something like that. The guy that took us up to OH is playing something there.

I've played there a lot. Not as much this year because the mosquitoes are absolutely horrible there right now from all the rain. It's one of the nicer courses around here. It's not very hard either. It's actually only like 10 minutes or less from my work.

Between Kittyhawk and Miami Shores, I've been having a heck of a lot of the same thing. I don't hit greens that often and it really plays with my fragile temperament to see the big bounce into the fringe or worse. Funny to think what things would be like if we hadn't had as much rain. The grass situation out there has been a constant frustration over the year. Budget-wise, it is really tough to spend money playing other courses, but the folks on Wagner Ford have been driving me to it. Lately, I've played Sugar Isle, Homestead and Windy Knolls just for a sanity check.

Bought that one, it's only about 40 minutes away. Were you thinking of getting it also?

I finally broke 80 today! 75 at Community on the Dales. Granted it's not that tough, but I'll take the 36 on the back any day. I lipped out the eagle chip on 18.

That's awesome man. Any plans on playing anywhere tomorrow?

Playing it by ear at this point. I think the weather is supposed to be ok.

I was thinking about trying Beavercreek tomorrow, just because I would like to play it before the end of the year. I know it's a tougher course, so I'm not expecting to play well there, but if it's as nice as they say it will be worth the trip down. Didn't know if @saevel25 will be playing there too, would be nice to have someone along who knows the course. Either way I'm going to play somewhere tomorrow.

That would work out alright for me, I think I still have a range token from when we played there last time.

Definitely not as good today. A few bad holes kept me out of the 70s. As hot and tired as I was, I'll take an 83.
