My thoughts exactly. If he wins, that was the $10m shot of his life. How do you get a ball to check like that from water and mud. I thought his ball was DEAD. This is a hell of a playoff!

Who knew? Congratulations Mr. Haas. Not exactly one of the even 8 players I was rooting for. But a very well played playoff.

Greetings ... In addition tho the $11.440 million payday, Bill Haas has earned the following exemptions .... (1) All PGA Tour events including the Grand Slam Majors in 2012 (2) The Players Championship and all PGA Tour regular invitational events thru 2014 (with Tour Championship win). (3) All PGA Tour regular open events thru 2016 (Fed Ex Cup Champion). Congrats to Bill and the whole Haas family. Thanx-A-Lot, Frank-0-Sport

more than his old man made for an entire career!

More than Nicklaus, Palmer and Player in their entire careers combined.
But not quite as much ad J.J. Henry in  his entire career. Or Briny Baird.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Unbelievable save from Haas. My first thought when I saw the ball skip off the green was "he's just lost the tournament". I can only imagine how easy it would have been to assume that it was over at that point and not give it everything. Congrats to Bill Haas.

Was that exciting enough for you?

Since I think (imho) that FedEx cup is a mess, awarding 10m$ to a random guy, can anybody explain me why Donald didn't win the cup?

Luke was coming in the last tournament 4th, and finished this tournament T3 ahead of Simpsons, DJ and Justin Rose. Bill Haas on the other side was 25th... it looks like they gave the cup to the Tour Championship winner... I will never get this FedEx thing and still think a match play would be way more entertaining to finish the season, but I read somewhere that Accenture keeps the rights for match plays in the PGA Tour...

That mud shot was beautiful!

I was wondering, too, how someone from # 25 can overtake #4, who finishes tied for 3rd, by winning the tourney. There is a premium placed on winning, a big premium. So to win the FedEx, you better win one of the 4 tourneys in the playoffs. Luke finishes well, but doesn't win often, or timely.

You read about how to do it but hitting out of the shallow water and getting it close?  Downright sick. And for that amount of clip?  C'mon.  That has to be the greatest single golf shot since........Philly's "thread the needle" at The Masters.  What good television!  Even my wife gave a shout.

So much for the idea that grooves funnel water and debris away to allow the ball to grip the clubface and spin...

Great shot by Bill. 99% chance he's DOA there and yet, BLAMMO, a roughly $10.6M shot.

That's exactly it. I believe the tournament winner gets 2500 points. That plus whatever he had was enough to beat Donald's point total. I think I remember hearing that it was only a 15 point win over Webb Simpson.

Actually, here's the link to the standings, if anyone is interested:
