Hello all i'm a new member here, I hit my first ever Eagle yesterday, 261yd driveable par 4, I hit the green and then sunk a ten footer, what a great feeling that was!

I've been playing off and on for probably 20yrs playing maybe once or twice a year but I started playing regularly last year, yesterday I shot a 92 and scored 40 points

I was very pleased yesterday, 92 is my lowest round yet, but I had three sevens and an eight so I can definately go lower. I think i'll get some lessons with the club pro, hes offered me four for the price of three so its a no brainer really.

Congrats on the Eagle.  I've had a bunch of opportunities but couldn't get the putts to fall but I'm still hoping I get one before the season ends.

Its the first time I've had an opportunity and to be honest I thought i'd miss the putt because it really is a weak part of my game, but my driving is really coming on and hopefully the scores will keep coming down!

congrats.  i'm still looking for my first eagle.  had a chance earlier this summer, but a 3-putt later (from 10 ft no less!!!) and i was walking off the green with a par...

That is amazing!  Congratulations!  I have never sunk an eagle before, but I still get an awesome feeling when I get a Birdie, so I can only imagine the feeling for an EAGLE!  Congrats again!

You don't make eagles without going for the green.  Nice job.

I bet that hurt! I scored 92 yesterday which equals my best ever, BUT I had an air shot and had to count it lol

I almost had mine today. It was a short par 4 like 360 yards. I hit a decent drive left. Had about 80 in. Hit a little punch GW and it came up like half a foot short. Closest I've ever been.

And congrats BTW!

Career Bests:

18 Holes--80 @ Carroll Meadows Golf Course(+9)

Awesome and congrats!  The only eagles I've scored were on par 5s, never on a par 4.  IMO, getting an eagle on a par 4 is much more difficult--at least on the courses near me, because very few of them are driveable for me (read: way less than 300 yards).  The only time I carded a eagle on a par 4 was when I was playing in a alternate-shot tourney with my bud.  It was on a level, straight away 278 yard par 4 and I put my tee shot on the front of the green.  From there, my bud drained the 12 footer.

Congrats, mine was on a long par 5 with the second shot over a lake in front of the green, 3 wood landed 5 feet from the hole. Second was soon after on the second hole of my first ever high school tournament, holed a pw from 80 yards out up a hill, didnt even get to see it go in.

    • I don't see the swing speed as any advantage or disadvantage either way. While they don't have the "WOW!" factor that some of the men have. i.e. "Did you see Rory's 380 yard drive on 17!" That kind of thing. They do, however, play the courses shorter. I think their average LPGA Tour course is like 6400 yards, compared to 7300 for the men. So when I watch it on TV it looks kinda the same. They hit driver then 8 iron, just like the men hit driver then 8 iron. I don't really care that the hole is 100 yards shorter or whatever.  Let me put it another way. If I was to watch the WNBA and then watch the NBA, I would immediately notice how much slower the players are. How much more the men play above the rim. etc... Why? Because the court is the same size. The hoop is the same height. When I watch the LPGA Tour and then watch the PGA Tour, I don't notice (as much). They hit driver then 5 iron into a par-5 just like the men do. Because the course is smaller, it looks similar. BTW - The same is true of softball vs baseball. The softball diamond is much smaller. So, the line shots look similar, there are equally as many home runs, because the field is smaller it looks pretty similar in play.  Here's where to my way of thinking, they can make some hay. If the LPGA Tour was to lead the way in terms of pace of play they may be able to add additional excitement to their game and possibly start to make some converts. I'm an idiot who has never been a sports commissioner. But it seems that when MLB noticed their games started approaching 4 hours and Major League Soccer was always done in under 2 hours. They made changes to try to improve and it seems to be working.  With the LPGA Tour it seems you either need exciting personalities or need exciting play. If they improve the pace of play issue it could add to exciting play. Again, I'm no expert but that seems like an area they could lead instead of follow. It does seem they've recognized this. So, we shall see.
