Great job. That's a cool way to plan your off season. If you don't lose a lot of balls give the kick X a try they are really nice.

Now I gotta figure out how to keep working through the winter. Going to try to get out to the local simulator place at twice a month so I can maintain some semblance of my swing for next season. Maybe just do tons of slow mirror work through the winter. Got some great feels.

Backswing - Slightly favour lead foot at address. See the ball with both hands going back. Feel arms stay straight until they have to bend STOP THERE!

Downswing - Add pressure to lead foot and explode shoulder up and back. Feels a bit like I'm coming under.

Swing to the target. Feel like path is neutral or risk hooking it.

Driver - Set-up is HUGELY important. Hips forward, head back. ***

Think I'll also make the jump to Urethane balls next season. Callaway Hex Chromes can be had pretty cheap on the recycled ball market.

Nice job. Good way to end your season!

Thanks all :-) . It's been a while since I hit a golf milestone so it was nice to get this one (breaking the bogey golf barrier).

PS: For those of you who were mocking my $3 Cleveland Launcher, I love that stick. Never had a driver feel so good in my hands and promote such confidence. I guess I like smaller club heads. Time for Blades!!!!

Look on ebay for some Wilson staff blades you could have your driver and irons for under $50 ;).

Alright so I threw together a homemade impact bag - lasted all of 5 swings - and I can see how it can really give me an opportunity to work on my priority piece over the winter. I can just let go of everything else and practice that shoulder move to the exclusion of all else until I can't not do it properly . The plan will be to hit either the sim bay or indoor range once every other week or so just to see some ball flight and make sure I'm not grooving crap.

Best part is that I can do this in my basement whenever I want, the club never gets past A7 so height isn't an issue.

Awesome range session this morning. Only mishits were a handful of fats (maybe 10 out of two 80 ball buckets) that would have lost some distance but stayed online which is my main goal and some pushes when I didn't turn enough on the way through. I've got a new trick for range work, every fifth ball or so I hook on purpose . Hooking is my main miss these days so being able to hook at will goes a long way towards being able to NOT hook. Going to be a productive winter, bought an impact bag and am working on my feels to keep everything on point for next season. Ended my season with a +8 over 9 holes so I get to ride that high all winter.

Nice where did you get the impact bag? I've never even heard of such a thing.

Had another great range session this morning. When I get my priority piece clicking I can really cream the ball. Was belting 6 irons that were hitting the top of the back wall of the dome and still climbing. Silky feeling impact. Really starting to like these new clubs, hated the feel of them at first, but I must have been having trouble finding the center of the face because now they feel like butter. Never knew a GI could feel so good, but these X22s are awesome. I took some quick dtl which I'll post later if the angles don't suck.

Some video from today.

Some full swings at 120 fps:

Did a lot of pump drills. There's a full swing at the end, which felt a little bit fat.

It's amazing how much my feel/real ratio was off on this drill. It felt like my hips were wide open at impact, but, clearly, they are not.

I'd like my head to bob less.

Hard to get FO because of the bays...and I'm lazy.

Thanks. Yeah, it's nice to be able to hit real balls in the winter. This place is 20 minutes down the highway and a bit pricey, I paid a little over $18 for 35 minutes (unlimited balls). I'm going to try to commit to getting there at least once a week, probably end up being every other week. I'm also hoping to get some sim time in here and there, just to actually play.

2015 goals:

All modest I believe.

solidify the progress I've made and get it locked in, no more regressing.

improve my aimpoint reads which have gotten a little sloppy

get over my fear of the driver

score consistently under 100 on regulation courses

The first one is going to be addressed by committing to at least 3 range sessions a month over the winter with simulator time thrown in when I get the chance. Mostly full swing work (like 99%) but I'll keep mixing in pump drills and hitting intentional hooks to try to get my unintentional hooks under control. I have my priority piece from Erie that really hasn't changed. Sometimes I regress and need to step back and tune up the backswing but as long as that's relatively decent I can focus all my attention on my priority piece. Even my pump drills are done in a manner that highlights my priority piece.

The second one will have to wait for spring, can't really practice aimpoint on the carpet. I'm going to buy a digital level with slope % capability, I have an aimpoint bubble but since converting 100% to express I think it's worth investing in the digital. My speed and lines are pretty good so I doubt I'll do much putting work over the winter. Putting is a) easy and b) boring.

For the driver I'm just going to try to build on the moderate success I have had towards the end of this season. A lot of it is just confidence, I get too timid with the big stick and try to steer it. My priority piece is impossible to nail if I'm timid, it requires speed and authority. The right mindset goes a long way. I drive the ball best when I'm eager to hit the driver.

The last one will largely take care of itself if I get to work on the first three. Course management will play a role and for that I have LSW to guide me to a smarter game plan.

Bonus points >>> my new job will involve a fair bit of travel, mostly in Canada but I will get to the US much more frequently so I'm hoping to meet more of my TST buds in person, even if it's just for a beer. Golf may not always fit in but maybe...all us die hards have extra sets so ya never know! I can always fit in an hour at the range with any of y'all.

Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
