I've had 2. One was witnessed as I was playing with a group of buddies that we gamble w/. The other I was by myself just practicing since I had skipped my college classes that day. I was hitting a couple of balls just knocking it around. I hit two on that par three and they were different balls so I know the first shot was the hole in one. The shot was a little up hill, so I didn't get to see it go in (the other ace was on a down hiller, so I saw it) The second ball was about a foot from the hole and a didn't see the other ball as I came up to the green. Looked in the cup and there it was. I knew both shots were good, but didn't realize the one was an ace. Mine were w/ a 6 iron on the first ace and a 7 iron on the second one. No trophies or drinks. I did win a close up and a skat on the one that we were gambling one.

I've had 2, and saw neither go in the cup. My first was when I was 19 (wow, 19 years ago now) to an uphill par 3 of 145 yards. Hit a nine iron that looked good, but because of the plateau green, didn't even see it land. I was playing in the early morning with my Grandpa and when we got to the top, we didn't see it and he went to the cup and there it was. The other good thing was that it was early in the morning and when we got to the clubhouse, I just bought a few of the old timers some coffee because we were off the course at like 8:30. The cool thing was doing it with my Gramps; he was more excited than me and it is one of many good memories I have of playing golf with him at his nine hole home course in Rossland B.C.

I got another one last winter at my home course, but it was in December and because of frost, we were playing off mats on the par 3's and onto temp greens. The temp was in a little hollow and visually blocked a bit by a tree. I hit a PW and when we walked up there I was looking all over for the ball. The ground was pretty hard so I figured it must have taken a big kick off the turf. Thought I had lost it so my playing partner went over to putt out and there it was in the cup. Not really that satisfying because of the tee and temp green, but I guess I can count it.

No holes in one yet, but have been within 2 inches of making one. That was a few years ago. This past summer I got close to making a hole in one three times in one week. The Tuesday of that week, I put it about 2 feet from the hole. Later on Friday, I had my company's tournament, and I won the closest to the pin with a shot that was 23 inches. Then two days later I won my league tournament's closest to the pin with a shot that was 26 inches from the pin.

Needless to say, it was a good week for my irons.

None...

closest was 18 inches, which i missed (was my first real birdie opportunity... luckily I have made several birdies since then).

I've seen my uncle make one on a terrible goat farm course when I was about 12 years old.

I haven't made any yet, but come very close. I have hit four that have ended up within 8 inches. I have seen a friend of mine do it. He hit a dirt chipped, dirty driving range ball. I couldn't believe it. The ball landed pin high and two inches from the hole and bounced once left, right into the hole. I'm guessing he has about a 30+ handicap.

7/05/00. The day after Independence day. Elm Grove golf course, Lubbock TX. Hole #13 195yds. 7i with a strong Lubbock back wind. Ball lit 14" behind the pin and spun in. I was playing alone, but the guys on the next tee celebrated with me for a bit, which was nice of them.

Eager for #2

Havnt had the pleasure of getting a Hole in One yet. Know a few who have or even have two but not me as yet..Par 3 today it looked as though i came close but you can never really tell unless your standing right next to it. Closest i have been is bouncing, then hitting the pin on the second shot of a long Par 4. Obviously not a Hole in One but it ended up 2 Inches from the cup and it felt good to birdie.

I was lucky to have 2 hole in ones:

1) 1st one was on a 9 hole golf course in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco on the 9th hole approximately 160 yards.
2) 2nd hole in one was on the 8th hole at Harding Park also in SF approximately 188 yards.

I framed the first one with the score card for about $130 and the second one I bought an inexpensive shadow box from Target for $20 and put it together myself with a picture of the hole.

I had positive thoughts on the first hole in one, you know, talking to myself about making a hole in one without really thinking I was going to make one.

Of course I've never hit one, but I have been in the presence of one

A 12 year old young man I know named Bobby Brasfield hit a hole-in-one with a Pitching Wedge on a local course. I've heard of people waiting their whole lives to hit a hole-in-one... and I know the kid isn't just lucky

I believe he's played in two tournaments this year in a 12-15 yr (don't quote me) division and finished 3rd in both tournaments.

Now if only he were old enough to skip school and give me a few lessons one day

I had one, it was pure beginner's luck In fact, it was one of my first times on the course. Before that I had only been practicing at the driving range.
I know, it was only on the junior course and the hole was only like 65m (we got the metric system, remember ) but I know it was a great feeling. I still remember there were people that were applauding. I felt like Tiger Woods for a second However, the next day at the driving range, I couldn't hit a single ball straight

None so far, but I just ordered new irons so once I get them in, the aces should start pouring in!!

A guy got one during our Club Championship. He won a nice pot (perpetual $2 buy in) but he also bought us a round...it cost him over $600 thus reducing the pot. (I felt bad for the dude so I only ordered a Coors Light instead of the Sam Adams I think that tradition is the worst one ever. I hope I never get a hole in one during a club tourney!

I've never made a hole in one, but I have made an impossible 60 yard wedge shot from deep rough to make par on a par-3 witnessed by my father-in-law.

Sad part is that I was still 60 yards from the hole on my third stroke.

Its shots like that that keep me coming back!

On my tombstone: "If this is the worst thing that ever happens to me, I'm doing just fine!"

I have hit one. It was a 136 yard par 3 slightly uphill and into about a 10 mph wind. I hit an easy 8 iron and flew it straight into the cup. I was playing with two good friends so I had witnesses. I have the ball, the signed scorecard, the letter from the PGA and the clip out of the local newspaper all framed and hanging up in the living room.

How many holes in ones do you have? 2 - 1st was hole #12 at Twin Creeks in Allen, Tx - Hard 7iron. 2nd was hole #7 at Meadowlark in Huntington Beach, CA - Tees were up as was the pin, nice solid 9iron into a steady wind.. Saw it suck back in the hole. The group that waived us up went crazy when it rolled in.

what was your final score? don't remember! After the first one I barely got it past the foward tees on the next hole.

Did you frame the ball and score card? Only kept the balls, scorecards had so much stuff from all the games we had going.

Did you buy drinks? First one, no one drank in the group! Second one cost just under $200, group that waived us up, my group had a couple of juniors, then the bar flys from our Men's Club, got lucky it was not more.

Did you have any positive thoughts before hitting your shot? I always have positve thoughts before I address and hit my golf ball.

Cheers,
Pace

I haven't had one yet but I dream the night before I play that I will have atleast one the next day. So far my dreams have been dashed everytime. One of these times it will happen though. You've got to stay positive.

I almost got one on our 17th. it was only playing at 160, and my ball took one hop and bounced of the flagstick into a bunker. i was pretty angry. my dad aced that same hole the next time we played (it never left the flag) but in order to win the ace money (everybody at the club puts in 10 bucks anytime someone aces a hole) we need 3 witnesses. we only had 2.
i did eagle a par four from the fairway once though. made 8 on the next hole, haha

March 24th 2007. 194 yard 5 iron. One of the worst shots I have hit. Hit it over the tree front left of the tee box, it sliced back toward the green, landed on the front fringe and ran up and dropped in. Rather be lucky than good?
