What golf glove do you use?

I still wear a glove, mostly out of habit from the days when I was too poor (and stupid) to regularly re-grip my clubs. Nowadays, I keep Tour Velvet grips on my irons in pristine condition and I'm sure I could play without a glove no problem.

I never buy expensive gloves either. Every winter I stock up on the clearance sale gloves, mostly last years models. This year I bought 9 really nice Etonic Tour AC gloves for around $40ish. Those will last me the season, plus a I have a few more left over from last year too.

Craig Stadler to Roy "Tin Cup" McAvoy... "Here, use this -- it will help" (handing him a glove right before Roy hits a 250 yd. 3 wd. from the rough, stiff to the pin, over water).

What's in my bag (most of the time)

If you get blisters, there is usually a problem with your grip, not the lack of a glove. What I've read is that it means you're gripping too tight. I can hit 300 balls at the range and never get a hint of a blister or a callous. I might get a sore back these days, but no problem with my hands.

I have small calluses in a few places on my hand (I'm the "no glove" guy - I'm like anti-matter to Tommy Gainey), but nothing people can even really notice. I just notice my skin is a bit thicker there.

The only semi-obvious location is on either side of my wedding band there's a little callus. I wear it when playing golf.

I don't know how you no glove guys do it. I hit two large buckets in one day a couple weeks ago without a glove and developed a big blister. And yeah, it was right below my wedding band.

I use the Footjoy WeatherSof. Only $9.99 a piece and seem to hold up well in Florida's high heat and humidity.

I saw one person who said they won't skimp on the cost of a glove and only will wear leather. I've always believed the glove is just used to dampen vibration and discourage you from squeezing the club too tight. A cheap glove has always done the job for me. What are people's opinions on the benefits of more expensive gloves?

Usually use a Callaway Pro-series. Somehow got out w/o a glove Monday and shot my beast round of the year.

85 - 36 = 49.

You can, with a clear conscience, say you shot a net 49? Oh, to answer the question -- I don't wear a golf glove.

I'm using a Footjoy right now. For feel and durability it's been the best I've tried thus far. The Nicklaus brand glove from Costco are pretty decent, and you can't beat the price.

Callaway - Costco 3 pair for $16

Just wondered what every1 was still wearing.

I was in Costco yesterday and was tempted to buy three Callaway gloves for $19. They felt pretty good and the third one in the pack was a "tour" glove that looked to be a little better. Anyone try these from Costco besides niblick and missin44?

I have been using the FootJoy F3 which is really comfortable and durable in my opinion.

If winning isn't everything why do they keep score?

I liked the titleist players glove, and right now I'm using the same glove that kenny perry is using. Very good glove but I've been worn them pretty fast. When I find a shop with the titleist glove, I'm gonna buy that glove. I like it better...

    • On the subject of teenagers in professional tournaments there is a kid (Kris Kim) who is a member of my club in England and is at my old school. He’s 16. He’s playing in the pga tour event in Texas this week. Shot 69 yesterday for T31 and is -2 today through 5 holes. T55 and on the cut line. I really hope he makes the cut. Will be awesome.    His dad I believe is a teaching pro and his mum was on the LPGA Tour for a while.
    • I have two contenders here that stick out to me: In second place, a putt to win the hole playing the 16th hole at Burnham and Berrow. Playing foursomes and the green has a big bank at the front then a flat bit and then it goes up again to a back shelf. My partner had hit our second shot onto the back shelf. We were 2up at the time and he was being a little wobbly so we didn’t want to lose the hole. Our oppo were conceded a 4 and my partner told me to just lag it down there nicely. 20 year old me meant to do that and failed. I hit it a bit hard and it was definitely going to clear the tier and probably run off the front of the green, but it hit the hole right in the middle and went in. My partner was very happy we won the hole but quite upset at my ability to follow instructions.    Number 2 is my most memorable. I was about 16 playing in the junior knockout at my club. We get to the 10th hole - long par 4 and index 2. I didn’t hit a very good drive, hit my second up about 60 yards short and pitched on to maybe 25 feet. I started walking and I got this feeling. I knew I was going to hole it. There was no doubt at all. I’ve never felt like that any other time in my life but this one putt was a certainty. It was February and the greens had been recently hollow tined so they were in awful shape. I didn’t even line it up. I hit my putt and it bumped and bounced all over the place until it went in the middle of the hole. If I could bottle up that feeling and sell it I’d be up there with Bezos and musk. Mind blowing!
    • It's strange how ONE person can be THAT much different/better/whatever than anyone else.
    • I saw a YouTube review on a bunch of ball brands and the Maxfli Tour X did very well in comparison. I bought a sleeve and found them to be excellent in feel and distance. But I’m a lousy golfer so nobody probably cares about my opinion. 😃
