I know that the Jan Craig headcovers of years past had a little resurgence when Watson almost won the British Open a few years ago, but it looks like they are coming back in style a little bit - I noticed Poulter was using them as well.

I just popped on a set similar to the ones below (but also with orange in addition to the white accents) to clean my bag up a bit.  Playing a Titleist driver with Ping 3 wood and Nickent hybrids, I thought the bag was looking a little junky - these on everything but the driver should clean it up a bit.

I've had a set of these for 5+ years. I'm rough with my equipment and these headcovers can take a good beating, a little dirty, but still intact.

Not personally a fan of having branding and logos all over the place. I also spray painted the logos on my bag, so along with these headcovers, there is basically no advertising on my bag.

I've been thinking about getting something like that since somebody on here pointed out that the big name headcovers are just good advertising for thieves.  Not that thieves are super prevalent on golf courses, but since Titleist isn't paying me anything for it, I figured it couldn't hurt to get some that are a little more non-descript.

The only problem is that those Jan Craig things are so flippin' expensive.  Heck, I could replace a stolen 3-wood for a similar price to a full set of those headcovers!  Anybody know where to find similar ones at a reasonable price?

I've seen a few OEM's coming out with them. I know that defeats your purpose, but Callaway for example has a few aftermarket FW and driver versions out right now (on the wall at Golf Town). I use no-name (except for iliac which to most golfers around here is probably no-name) aftermarket headcovers on all my woods (use the original Callaway FTiz hybrid covers because they look vintage).

You can find them on ebay - I ordered a set of 3 for $50 and the seem like the same quality as the Jan Craig ones.  The other alternative is to put them on gift lists and have someone else buy them for you!

Not sure I would say they are back in vogue.  They were popular briefly a few years ago but not so much anymore.

They were the standard, then they went away, then they came back, and now they're quite popular again if photos on the internet are to be believed (LPGA, Champions Tour, NCAA, etc). Maybe if Mizuno issues one using grain flow forged wool you'll get on board.

Go to www.etsy.com & search for "golf club covers"...I recently got a set of 4. I like them better than the manufacturers' covers since the slide on & off more easily. I can appreciate the manufacturers' interest for a snug fit but found the snug-ness irritating when at the range.

I really wanted to get one for my driver or 3 wood but some of them are really expensive! Around $40 bucks a head cover! I mean, it is just a glorified sock...

Yeah I personally don't believe you need to buy all one brand of clubs... I play what works for me, I wouldn't carry Nike Wedges if I didn't like the feel just to match. I only carry 4 different brands (Cleveland, TM, Nike and Scotty). Primary reason why I went with the knit covers was to clean up my bag from all the different headcovers.

    • There are so many videos comparing and contrasting everything that I am both overwhelmed and more than a bit skeptical. Your comments above are much more valuable than hours of you-tube videos. Generally speaking, I’d much prefer to read something that someone took the time and trouble to write (such as your comments) than a bunch of videos, or worse, meaningless reviews that seem like they are all cut and paste selections of the same script. I’m more of a RTFM type than a watcher of “instructional” videos. By way of explanation, I don’t watch TV either.  So thanks - I’ll take that under advisement. I have an H3 that I bought for $10 that I’ve been carrying around but not sure why. Seems like a cool club, but I just don’t really know what to do with it.
    • I was using the window as a mirror. Just trying to be a more aware of the feels for a better backswing. Trying to not be as closed from A1 to A2. Then not letting the club head flip inside. What I was feeling was a pressure my right wrist, and like the palm of my right hand was pushing upward against the grip of the club. My right hand was the underside of the swing path.  Going to play around with this a bit more. It looked pretty decent with mirror/window work. Just wanted to jot it down.
