I knew a guy who got to play in a pro am with Sammy Davis at the Greater Hartford Open. They rode in the same golf cart the whole day. Sammy was drunk out of his mind at 8 o'clock in the morning. He said Sammy had a crude sexual comment about every woman he spotted from the golf cart. He told me that Sammy was the most disgusting human being he had ever met. The whole day Sammy had no idea he was sitting next to a Roman Catholic Priest!!!!

Well in Sammy's defense he was Jewish, and he was drunk. 😆

I've heard Rory Sabatini is a jerk, I would also probably not want to be Todd Hamilton's partner, I am not a huge fan personally, I used to work at a course he was a member and he screamed at me on the 18th green because the course made an employee stand out there and offer cold towels as they came off. He could be nice to you some days, and in your face others, so I suppose it would be be great if he was in a good mood and terrible if he was pissed.

    • Day 23 - Back to full swing work, trying to swing loose and feel the club head.
    • Yet here we are. I don’t disagree that we should expect spectators to behave on any event, not just The Masters, but that’s not the case. There’s a sea of phones out there on any other event and a lot more incidents with spectators. Why shouldn’t we praise decent behaviour when it is often lacking in these days? There are plenty of golf related events to write negative articles about. I like when there is positivity to write about instead. Not that I expect them to behave at any other event like they do at Augusta just because it gets praise, but it’s nice to see positive spin on things. There are more than enough articles about rowdy spectators and cheating players. I think you nailed it in the first line: “grumpy old man”. 😉

    • Yeah, I take your point. Perhaps you've just identified the other side of the same coin: maybe there is very little to celebrate about pro golfers as people, so the golf media are clutching at straws trying to find something.
    • Go ahead and name three things that, in the world of golf, have been more praise-worthy in the last three months. I'll wait. It's not like they got Congressional medals or something.
