If he doesn't get his health and his act together?

He last won at the Shell Houston Open in April 2010 which would give him a 2 year exemption on the PGA Tour right?  That basically means that in 2012 he would have to place within the top 125 of the money list to retain full status on the PGA Tour for next year?  And so far this year he's played 9 events, made the cut only twice, and has only banked $33K to date.  Is he in serious danger of losing his card?

I wouldn't say that he could, I'd say that he probably will. What else do you think could happen? I don't see much changing with his form.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

Besides stats, he's also having a problem even finishing tournaments, which isn't helping.  This is a good question and we'll have to see how it pans out.  It really would only take 1-2 strong showings late in the year for him to keep his card, no?  He still has the ability to get hot one weekend and win the tourney.

More than stats...the numbers show me he isn't hitting the ball particularly long or straight.

Id say its a very strong possibility.  Its a shame too, because he showed some real potential a few years ago.  Apparently staying out late partying all the time is catching up to him.

Same here.  I always liked AK and would like to see him return to form.  From what I understand though, right now he wants to party and have fun and golf is secondary to him.  Sorry but you cant go and and party until 3am and then go out and play 18 holes of golf and expect to play well.

Until AK decides to grow up a bit and make golf a priority, he isnt going to be a winner on tour.

Needs to find form for sure...

Does anyone know how his thumb is doing?  He took a while to regain form, than had a few decent finishes, but hasn`t won since having surgery in 2010.  He was never tops in GIR, but his distance stats are definitely down since then.

I like AK, but here is a retweet to Steve Elling

Its funny how someone can be so good yet be on the verge of losing their tour card. If I was as good as Kim, I'd be looking for nothing else besides a great career on tour.

I know what happened.

When Tiger's mess came out. He told AK, hey you can go hang out in Vegas with Charles and Michael, since I can't now.

So now hookers, booze, and betting is his priority now.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
