Just wondering if you can get smaller headed drivers? i know the Titleist D3 is smalled than 460cc,

occured to me the other day i hit my 3 wood sweet, but struggle witht he driver, so wondered if my best option would be either a strong lofted 3 wood with a longer shaft, or a smaller headed driver :S

Yes R11 is smaller, that way they can come out with the R11S and say it's bigger and better ;-)

TourEdge makes a 3 wood that's 11.5* .  It's a good club and I played with a guy in January that's using it as his driver and he hits it great.  I did a review on the 15* head

Check out the Great Big Bertha II, 3+.  Came out in 2002.  12.5* of loft, titanium head.  The thing is a rocket launcher.  Only about 190cc.  Also the Callaway Hawkeye VFT was a really nice 3 wood off the tee, titanium as well.

haha makes sense

I might check the R11 out,....

stupid question, but if i hit a block/block slice with my driver, can the r11 be tuned to partially/fully negate this swing flaw?

Im happy with how i hit everything else and cant be bothered to change my swing just for the driver lol

You likely hit your 3-wood better because of the shorter shaft, not the smaller head

The adjustability of the R11 wont fix major swing flaws.  You can slightly tune your ballflight with it but its not going to fix a block/slice.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

true, ive recently cut my driver shaft down to 43.75" and its helped alot,

hmmm not sure what to do then,....everytime i have a lesson to fix "my driver swing" my irons go to shit,...

might go with the strong lofted 3 wood, never gunna be a pro so guess it dont matter that much

I think you're going to want to be able to hit the driver off the tee.  When I get the hard blocks I find it's because I get the club way inside and it gets stuck behind me.  For some reason it only happens with the driver.  Must be the longer shaft.  To fix it, I focus on keeping the shaft a bit more vertical on the backswing (if that makes sense).  By vertical I mean the butt end pointing at the ball and not way outside it.  All that said, I think a strong 3 wood is a great club to have in the bag.

possibly, my swing is a tad flat,...soemtimes if i try to swing more vertical i hit the ball to far up the face

since cutting the shaft down ive gone from a staight block/massive push slice to a more neutral block, straight fade

so improvement has been made,...

I started hooking all my drives the other day randomly, not sure how i was doing that haha

    • Day 446 - 2025-12-20 Woke up early and got some swings in before teaching putting all day. Looking forward to doing the same tomorrow.
    • It's miles better, though.
    • Went up to Erie for a lesson. I still need to work on how I shift my weight into my right leg and turn into the right leg. I extend it too much and externally rotate it too much. That all causes me to over rotate the hips and cause weight shift issues in the downswing. I need to feel like my right leg gains flex (it doesn’t), and my knee cap faces forward. The right hip sinks back and right. I need a need a ton more internal rotation. I still have some right elbow issues in the backswing. The path is better, but too much right elbow bend. I need to maintain width in the right elbow and let my right shoulder retract more, let’s say at A3, which helps keep that right arm extended.
    • Day 130 12-20 Today was just swinging what i had and go from there. Did focus on getting to lead side. Recorded swings for lesson  and hit real balls.
