Awards, Achievements, and Accolades

Congrats on playing with your kid! I've been only playing for a couple of years now, but last September my son's (22)  high school sweetheart dumped him. (She was a nice girl, [no Sarcasm], she just moved on in her life). Right after that he got laid off from his job he'd had for a few years. That was on a Sunday. So I told him he needed to hit some balls, so we headed over to a cemetery that has a huge field available.

I am right handed and He's about 50~50 on being a lefty. We had a good time hitting the balls, but he said it didn't really feel right. A few day's later I found myself in a shopping plaza and there was a guy moving his golf club refinishing business into a new store front. I asked him if this was retail or wholesale and told him my little story. He unpacked a few boxes and handed me a 3-W, 9-I and a sand-wedge, all free.

I also told this story to a guy at work who plays and he's also left handed and brought me in a Driver, 6 +7 I's and two putters that he said he put out in a garage sale once and no one bought them.

I took my boy out twice at the end of last season, We had a blast! Nothing special, an easy 9 Hole Exec. course that's local, but challenging. Kind of a modified best ball format.

Last week he said: "You know Dad, It's time we go hit some balls again!"... HE ASKED!!!!

The weather has unfortunately been against us since that day he asked, and we work different shifts, But there's a Tee time coming up really soon.

Have fun.

I ordered a Chicken and an Egg on the Internet, to find out which came first... I'll keep you posted!

Wow.  That's a great story, Tom.  Thanks for sharing.  My daughter's seven, and she hits the ball maybe 10-20 yards, runs up to it, hits it again, runs up to it, hits it again, etc.  She had a blast the other day.
