In hockey and other sports there are "jersey fouls" like putting "Lemieux" on a jersey that isn't from an era in which he actually played, or something like that. I don't particularly care about those (I got a jersey with my name on the back as a gift, and that's a jersey foul in the eyes of many, but what, I'm not gonna wear a $200 jersey I received as a gift?), but I do find it amusing when someone spends the time and effort and does something like spell the name of the player wrong.

And now that's crossed over into golf.

I mean, if you're such a big fan of the guy that you get a fake Augusta National type caddie bib, you think you'd at least spell his name right, wouldn't you?

At least he's wearing all white. Could come in handy these days (if it breathes well).

Funny, although when I clicked on the thread I assumed it was going to be about Steve Williams.  I noticed today that he wasn't wearing a bib, then assumed that they didn't have them for this week's tournament, then noticed all of the other caddies wearing them.  He gets to play by his own rules I guess.

I believe it was optional. Some of the other caddies didn't have them on either.

Good, because otherwise I think it would just contribute to the negative reputation he has been developing for himself as of late.

You think that someting he didn't do would have contributed to his negative reputation had he done it?

Just as well Tiger didn't throw his club at a spectator on the 16th, because that wouldn't have looked good, given his reputation.

No, that's not what I meant.  He did do it.  He was not wearing a caddy bib.  I was assuming that he was the only one and was doing it because he's a pompous-a## who thinks he can do whatever he wants.  That would have just been an extra strike towards my negative opinion of him as of late.

However, Erik pointed out that I was incorrect in that assumption.  He was one of several doing it because it wasn't required.  Therefore, that particular action will not contribute to my negative opinion of him.

[FYI, the latest comment on the current 'muscle back blades' thread refers to the 'feel' of a forged Scratch or Miura iron ... thought you might want to know]

EDIT:  Ha! Nevermind, you already responded to them about it.
