Birdies?

How long till you got your first Birdie???? I sunk a 20+ ft putt for birdie tonight. It was amazing!

Same here.  I was probably 13 or 14.  It was within my first year of playing golf though.

Played my 3rd ever round today, and I'm still waiting on mine.  Missed a 15 footer for what would have been my first by half an inch today

3-4 months into playing. (Started at 47 years old) on a par 3 course in New Mexico Marty Sanchez, greatest feeling ever, made a couple today. Brings up another question what tees were you playing?

No offense, but do tee's matter when you're playing a par 3 course?  I would assume the players above who have not birdied before (or just birdied for the first time) are playing from the white tee's.

Not for the scoring.....but we tried an exercise yesterday of playing from the women's tee on a par 3 no traffic, we were the only ones on the course, played 9 with my friend teaching his girlfriend.  Had a blast and we had great practice for the big course, hit your wedge then putt.  We all had a great round afterwards.

I've never seen a par 3 course that had more than one set of tees since it's a par 3 course.

On topic . . . I didn't see my first birdie, but it was in one of my first few rounds (a long time ago). I chipped in from a clearing in the trees. My brother said it hit the flagstick and dropped in - could just as easily have been a double bogey.

First birdie was about. 2 weeks after I started playing again. My father and I were playing a little par3 course. The only straight shot I had hit all day went to the back of the green and I luckily putted from 20 feet or so. Still waiting on a birdie on a big boy course though.

I got my first one back in may. We were on vacation on myrtle beach it was a par 4. Since then I've gotten a few more mostly on par 5's. I have still yet to get one on a par 3.

Not counting a par 3 or pitch and putt course, I made my first eagle before I made my first birdie on a regulation course. Holed out my 2nd shot on a par 4.

My first birdie was during my second year of playing golf. It was on a 147 yard par 3. I hit a nice 7I to about 4 feet and made the uphill putt.

June 19, 2009. I had been playing about a month, and drove a wedge shot to within 16 inches on a par 3 hole at my home course. Took about another 3 weeks to get one at a par 5.

My first eagle was far more satisfying though. My 3rd shot on a par 5. A 30 yard wedge shot, landed 15 feet from the hole, bounced about another 5 feet, then rolled gently into the cup.

My first birdie was in my second year of playing and was pure luck.  I skulled a 7i something terrible, it skipped across 120 yds of water, slammed into the bank on the far side, popped up and rolled to 4ft.  Good thing there are no style points in golf.

I got mine on Monday. Hit a 4H off the tee on a 370yd par 4 then a 6i to within 15-18 inches. I was stoked as I walked up to the hole and just tapped it in and celebrated. I shot an 89 for that day and came away feeling real good putting a circle on the score card for the first time.

Just throwing this out there to people who feel getting a birdie on a par 3 course isn't as respectable as a birdie on a regular par 70+ course.   Longer courses have par 3's also and if you birdie on one of those it's just as good as on a par 4 or 5.  Any birdie is good in my book, I don't care if it's on a hole that is 100 yards long or 600 yards long.  It's a -1 on the scorecard.

I make more birdies on par 5's than par 3's.
