Why is SK #2 weight forward important or necessary? I want to know the why so I can do the how.

Moving the weight forward on the downswing moves the bottom of the swing arc forward.

Moving the weight forward on the downswing moves the bottom of the swing arc forward.

Why don't we just setup to were the bottom of the swing arc is were we want it to be from the beginning?

For two reasons:

  1. Gonna be tough to set 85-95% of your weight/pressure forward at A1.
  2. The weight/pressure/force is still going to shift back during the backswing, and there's still power and speed to be gained in shifting it forward during the downswing.

I'm no expert but but too much weight on my front foot at address causes my back foot to go completely rogue on my down swing.

We don't ask for too much weight there. Just 55-65%. Hips are slightly forward.

      Day 263 6-13 Setup alignment stick station for hands off body drill. Worked on wrist arch as well. Working on not hitting the stick 😀

      Hi @RetiredOldMan!  I am glad to see you are still playing and having good scores.  I hope that when I am 79, I am not only able to play, but still able to produce as good scores as you have been doing.   I look forward to hearing more of your success and your opinion of the senior flex shafts.

      Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)
