I guess I will go try out a few other brands and see how they are before I take the risk with these.

I took it down because they told me that the prototype wedges were meant for photography only and they weren't sure how I got them anyway. Their PR firm sent them to me.

Bounce is VERY IMPORTANT to wedges - their whole "V-Sole" thing is a bounce-based technology - so the review became worthless if the product I tested was not accurate or similar to the production wedges.

I cannot/won't review wedges again because since that time I've become an Edel wedge fitter, so there would be a perception of bias even if I expressed none and wrote a glowing review.

I just went to their website and if you click on the 'technology' tab, the first thing they talk about is the 'patented v-sole,' along with a pretty clear picture that shows exactly what Erik just described.  So it doesn't appear to be much different than the way Erik described it - maybe 1/2" of bounce at best.

Before you make the plunge, I would take note of his above comments on bounce and then read his thread on the topic: http://thesandtrap.com/t/57874/my-edel-wedges-or-super-bounce-and-why-its-good-for-you-or-the-sweet-spot-is-finally-in-the-right-place/0_30

Since you can't swing them before you buy, you can at least try and get as much info as possible on what you need first.  It looks like they at least have some kind of 30 day guarantee, so that might be of use to you.

Good luck!

https://www.scorgolf.com/wedge-technology/ This link answers your question on the V-Sole  I have used Eidilon V-sole wedges and I like them alot,  The Eidilon were cast and the Scor 4161 are forged-no difference in the sole.

Personally I would go with Cleveland 588 or Titleist Vokey because they are pros top choices.  I think Titleist just edged out 588 for top spot.

Also do you want to compete then they need to conform to new groove rules.

If I was paid as much as the top pros , I would play then TOO!  Nothing wrong with Cleveland or Vokey, but there are other wedges I feel that are better.  Ask Erik about Edel.

I received my Scor wedges on Thursday. I ordered a 54 and 58  1 flat standard length regular flex steel shaft.  I was a little disappointed. I found them very hard to his a short flop shot out of a fluffy lie.  They wanted to dig a little on tight lies unless I opened the face. I did not have any full shots are bunker shots with them today. All I can say is the jury is still out on them. I will be playing again in a few days and report back. I will say my whole game was a little off today

Darkhunter, I don't know if you already saw it but ... you can add this review to Erik's assessment.

Sounds like Erik's issue is the same problem he had; little bounce = digging ... and flop shots would be pretty difficult.

If it was me, unless I was a big time slider who didn't need much bounce, I think I would pass on these.

Thanks for your help! I think I am going to go a different route, that's to much money to spend unless I was absolutely sure and the reviews I have read bring up a few concerns. I guess ill go check out some at golf galaxy and see if I can find anything.

While true that you can't try them before you buy, Scor does have a playability guarantee (http://www.scorgolf.com/low-scor-guarantee/). As for the wedges themselves, I can't really comment as I haven't hit them. But everyone I've talked to and all reviews I've seen have all been very positive.

THe second round with the Scor wedges was a much better day. My whole game was still off but the wedges performed much better. Conditions  were wet. The wedges handled wet lies very well. Full shots from wet ground were easy and did not dig. I had two bunker shots today one short one to a tight pin and another about 20 yards. The 54 handled both shots with ease. I am still having trouble with short flop shots from fluffy lies, I will keep working on them. I still have not decided if I would recommend these. I will continue to report as I use them more

This looks like a great concept and a great company (and they happened to be located in the very same small, South Texas town where I picked up my first golf club).  I've heard some anecdotal complaints about quality control in assembly, and I know they were reviewed unfavorably here, but that review was removed.

Does anyone use them?  What do you think about what you received?  Does the "one sole" really work?  What about the guarantee?

I am frustrated with off-the-rack wedges.  I'm frustrated with three different clubs, with three different soles, that don't always work for the lie and shot I'm presented.  I also have uneven loft gaps:  43* 9i, 48* PW, 52* GW, and 58* LW.  Titlest doesn't make a 53* wedge, and I don't really know how bending my 52* to a 53* will change the bounce and sole.  The custom heads, specifically designed for each loft, seems intuitively good.

On good days, I hit my wedges great.  On other days, I can't hit a green from 50-120 yards.  My main problem is inconsistent divots (not sure whether it's from inconsistent approach angles or different turf conditions), but it causes my confidence to break down, leading to compensations, leading to more bad shots.  Frustrating.

Anyway, the SCOR system seems tailored to the issues I see in my current wedges.  I'd love to get an Edel custom fitting, but no fitters in Hawaii (and I don't really have $900 to blow on 3 wedges).

Thoughts?

I haven't tried the SCOR wedges.

EDIT: I was thinking Scratch.  Sorry.
