I just read this article about golf terminology and calling woods 'metals,' which I've heard more than a few times when I started playing golf and watching broadcasts. At the time as a beginner, I was confused on what the difference was between a wood and a metal, when it really just means the same (in terms of what club and not what it's made of).

LOL.....johnny miller is the only person I've heard calling it a metal.
