If they were naming it after me they're incredibly dyslexic. :)

Hope it peters out and everyone is safe.

I know I spend too much time on here when I read Issac as iacas!!! :P  Thus the reason for the thread.

I agree, hope it turns out to be a tropical storm and nothing more.  I have family all up and down the Gulf side.

Folks in the SW Florida area... Get your golf in now!  You could be in for a long couple of days...

I guess that means ComberBeach is a bit lysdexic???

I don't know why, but I always felt a little extra bad that "my" hurricane [Andrew] was so bad for the people of Florida.

OMG mine too!

I used to tell people my bday's easy to remember - it's what you dial in an emergency. No such memory jogs needed now.

One of (few) the benefits of having the name "Jamieson": no one is ever going to name a hurrican after you. :-D

We have been getting wind and rain from Isaac (that's the proper spelling by the way ) since Thursday evening.  The storm is very large and the strongest portion is the eastern half (cyclonic storms are always strongest east of the center).  Right now it's centered almost due south of us, over western Haiti.  We are still supposed to get more heavy rain and gale force winds today here in the central Bahamas as the storm moves to the northwest taking dead aim at the Florida Keys.  It starts to moderate for us around noon tomorrow (Sunday).  For the last day and half we've had the biggest waves we've yet seen breaking on the beach in front of the house.

No rain yet since sunrise today, but high humidity and clouds all around us so it's still coming.  I've got the storm flag up
