I would rather watch paint dry than practice.

Luckily I play twice a week so I don't need to practice (not saying I don't need it), but nothing bores me more than hitting golf balls on a range.

Having said that, if i had a good range at my course I would probably like to hit a dozen or so balls before each round.

Might stop some of those double bogeys on the first that can ruin a round and make a bad start.

I am quite jealous of those of you who have the oportunity of warming up by hitting balls.

Our "range" is a 10 minute walk from the 1st tee.

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

I could hit a hundred balls and never hit that stick!!!

Do you not like all those golfers?

Ive never gotten bored of practicing.  Any time I can pick up a golf club and work on my game is a good time.

Well, some of them are pretty annoying and stuck up (VIJAY) but most of them it was just for some good fun! :D You would be surprised though, those sticks actually aren't that hard to hit!

I love to practice when the weather is nice. When its 90+ degrees out I don't care for it much.

Ditto.  I never really liked range practice.

Not big on practice anymore, when I was younger and trying to fine tune my game I spent much more time at the range.  Now, more playing and little to no practice.

Yeah, wanna make 14 dollars the hard way?

I personally love practicing.  Especially at a really nice range.

There is nothing better than finding a spot on a nice range, tipping over the bucket of balls and just hitting ball after ball to different spots and playing around with different ball flights

No. Anyone who does must not be practicing properly.

Upon what evidence do you form that opinion? I have seen him in person and in TV interviews and he always seemed pretty affable to me.

Regarding practice being boring, my club would not allow me to put up poles on the range, nor would I want to spend all that time making those cutouts and whatnot. See my thread about practice games.

Ditto.  I like short game practice because you can be more creative and accomplish more in shorter timeframe. If I have 2 hours free for golf related activities I'd rather play 9-holes.

I LOVE to practice.  I don't have the time to play as much as I'd like but I'm at the range on 95% of my days off.  On Tuesday I was at the range and found that making a couple of small adjustments helped me to hit my irons with consistent, clean contact on nearly every swing, with the result being both straighter and longer ball flight than usual.  My divots, although straight at the target and after the ball, were deeper than they should have been.  I was working on making better contact with minimal divots and figured out what it took to accomplish it.  Tomorrow morning I'll practice and find out whether or not I can repeat my work from Tuesday, and if I can continue what I did last time I'll take it to the course next Tuesday and see if I still have it.

If I didn't practice I wouldn't have any hobbies that keep me outdoors.  High temperatures just don't bother me like they used to.  I need to practice to stay consistent and to stay mentally healthy.

    • I agree with @dennyjones, a suspension of some meaningful duration would be better than getting bounced from the Tour. They might consider experimenting each week. It might generate a bit of interest. I like the idea of a visible shot clock. If a player and their caddy can’t decide on a strategy and pull the trigger in XX seconds (30? 45? 60?), one stroke penalty. Give each player 2 resets a round. The clock starts when the last player to hit’s ball stops moving. Other pace ideas could be used every couple events until a consensus is reached to adopt or ditch an idea.
