Golf18 has great rates. I have wanted to use them but the times they are allotted do not work for me now. I would have used the hell out of them over the summer if had known about it sooner.

As someone that owns a service business I get chills down my back when I read such posts.  In this day of computers, smart phones and e-mail no one should HAVE to print a receipt.  She could have called golf18, or accepted the e-mail receipt you offered her on your phone.  You could have even forwarded it to her e-mail address to print.

I don't get businesses and people that behave this way.  If she worked for me she'd be fired immediately and you'd receive two free rounds for you and your friend.

I used to be a member at a private country club. I loved the old style course, but the pro had a very elitist attitude. On occasion I would play a local semi private course that was very accomidating, and treated me better than I was treated where I was a member.I ended up leaving the private club, and joining the semi private club. I am still recieving treatment like I am the most important member, as does everyone that walks into the pro shop. I really don't understand people that have an attitude that implies that you should feel lucky to get to play our course, get in a buisness like golf. People play golf to have fun, and good or bad treatment in the pro shop can go a long way to players enjoying their day. I know that I have played courses that are inferior just because the staff is much frendlier than at other courses.

caniac I know exactly what you're talking about. There is a course very close to me that is extremely nice and has a clubhouse that makes you want to just hang out there when you're not even playing but the staff is what sells it. I have never been treated better at a golf course, ever. I only play there probably once a month but every time I walk in the pro shop they make you feel like you come in daily and drop a fortune buying rounds for everyone. Even the cart girls are above and beyond what you'd expect in courtesy. It's at the top of my list to join right now when my membership at this other local course is up. based solely on customer service.

    • Day 549, May 4, 2024 After lessons and working with Natalie, hit some balls for awhile. Just backswing stuff. Forgot about the slightly shorter stuff, though I'm sure it was as they were only about 75% speed with brief pauses.

    • Best drive I've ever hit: I will not be answering any questions about the rest of the hole. Or the round, for that matter.
    • I tried hybrids way back when TaylorMade introduced the copper orange Firesole Rescue, the clubhead having been made of titanium which was still relatively new even in drivers back then. I couldn't hit it well at all, and while the success of hybrids suggests that the modern ones must be quite good,  I'm perfectly happy with the 5, 7, and 9-woods.  Early ones of mine were Top Flite Intimidator 400s made by Spalding... and also made of titanium, now that I think of it.  I still have them in my basement. I do bag a driving iron, but it's a one-trick-pony that never sees fairway use.
    • The last time I played Maxfli balls, Dunlop was still making them. How long ago was that? Mostly, though, I used to play Top Flites (original 336 dimple model) when Spalding was still making them. Now I play the Pro V1x. Last time that I ordered some, Titleist was still making them. Let's see how long that lasts.
