Well i am in need of a new driver and i found a great deal on The Cleveland Hibore 2006. For 20 dollars i can upgrade the shaft on it to a prolaunch blue, a proforce v2, an aldila NV-65, or i can keep as the stock for 20 dollars less. Any suggestions?

I had the NV in one (HiBore) and it was alright, I've got a friend who plays the V2 in it and likes it a lot. So I'd probably suggest the V2 :)

I have the V2 on my 5-wood and really <3 it.

I don't really think any of us can make a reccomendation when you gives us zero information.

I have a Hi-Bore and you should spend $20 more to upgrade. as for which shaft you should pick , the aldila and pro force both are for faster swingers.the PL Blue helps you get the ball in the air. get your swing speed tested then chhose

I don't have the HiBore but I do have the Prolaunch Blue in my Comp driver. I really like the consistancy and ball flight of that shaft. As far as what shaft you should get... I have no idea. I agree, look into getting the upgrade for 20 bucks, but get fitted for it. None of us in here can accurately tell you what shaft to get without knowing how you hit the ball.

I use the HiBore with the stock shaft and it works great, I assume that you hit the club and liked it, so just go with the shaft that was in when you hit it.

Sorry to bump up an old thread but i'm looking for a new driver and right now i have old drivers that are actually made out of wood. I was looking at the Cleveland Hibore 2006 and just wondering if it would be a good choice. I"m looking for a nice sweet spot and high trajectory(sp?). I have a little slice in my swing so would like to get rid of that. None of my local golf stores still have it so I can't try it out. But do you think it's worth it to buy it without trying it out first?

Thanks.

unfortunately there is no cure for a slice by buying equipment. I still manage to slice the living heck out of it

I just finally tried out my new Cleveland HiBore with the stock shaft and it’s better than expected. I was worried that the ball would balloon too much in the air and not get any additional roll forward from some reviews I’ve read, but that were unsubstantiated. I was back to popping balls well (I previously used a TM R7 460 with Aldila NV-75S stiff shaft) and wanted to get a regular flex and stuck with the stock Fujikara on the HiBore and I am pleased with it.

The length seems a bit longer than other stock shafts I’ve tried, but I just adjusted my distance and the sound off the face really rings well. Good bargain for the low price it’s selling for these days. The head cover comes off and on easily, though the white areas do get marks easily.

I have one with a stiff V2 and like it.

BEWARE: The stock shaft(V2) can be whippy and have been fighting a vicious hook at times. Feels like the shaft, but could be my swing too.
