YES!, Nike Method Core, and Scotty Cameron Putters

What are your opinions on these putters? The yes is the cheapest followed by the nike then the scotty. I personally prefer a blade putter. Is it worth paying the extra money for the nike and scotty. and i understand everyone is different and all im just looking for your opinion.

Just a laymans thoughts, I think it matters more whether you prefer a blade or mallet putter. I have tried both and get better results with a blade and as long as I can find a great feeling blade for a very decent price yes putters are my choice,

I love my Scotty Cameron. I got a used (looked like it had only rolled about 10 putts) Newport Pro Platinum for $125 at the local Golfsmith, and am glad I bought it. While Scotties may be expensive, I've tried the Nike and Yes putters and just don't like the feel as much. However, it is a largely personal thing, so I'd go to as many golf shops as you can and try out their new and used putters of the brands you are looking at.

Putters are such a personal choice. I have a Scotty Cameron, and although it was expensive, I really love the way it looks, feels and plays. I'll have it for a long time, so it's worth the $ IMO. Try them out and see which one works best for you - they're all good quality and will do the job. Personal preference in the end.

It's a mind thing. If you spend a lot on a trick putter; you feel like you have the best equipment. I have a Newport 2, and I enjoy having it. I don't think my handicap would go up, if I had a 20 dollar putter.

If spending $3-400 dollars makes u feel like u putt better by all means go buy a color stamped piece of steel with some non golfing guys name all over it. Scotty are all looks imho. Just buy what makes u feel comfortable. If u have a large golf retailer near u can test out all these clubs. I've tried them all at golfsmith and as for "myself", I putted quite well with the Nike method 001, didn't like the feel of Scottys, but I won't spend the money on any of these, no evidence proving one putts better then another. Maybe I'm a hypocrite because I spend $2000+ on the rest of my gear... I still have my brass ping style blade I got for free when ordering a wedge 20 years ago, thank u chipshot.com.

The Cameron fans are going to tell you that there is nothing like a Scotty and that its well worth the investment.  Personally, Ive always felt like Camerons (and pretty much all high-end putters really) are overpriced and overrated.  A $300 putter is not going to hole any more putts that a $100 putter will.

Honestly, all 3 are great putters.  If cost isnt a factor you really need to try out all 3 and go with what you like best.

Personally, I think cost should not be the issue, how you putt with them should be.  Yes, I have a Scotty, actually I have a couple of them, can't exactly put my finger on it, but of all the putters I have tried, they seem to fit/putt the best for me.  If putting with a rusty hammer worked for me I'd use it, I have no pretenses as to having to play with a particular brand of putter, I just know what I like and what works for me.

Personally I think the Camerons are over-priced "look what I have" items. Hit what works for you, if that includes a Cameron or other high-priced putter. I thought I was a blade person also until I got an Odyssey Rossie 2. I used it for years and just replaced it with a Yes Eleanor. No, I don't put the ! after the Yes. I think that is just goofy :)

The Eleanor is kind of a combination of a blade and a mallet. Worth trying out. One plus, it's great for picking balls up...lol. One minus, you can't get a ball out of the hole with it.

There must be red and blue putter states. When I saw the poll I wondered where are Cleveland, Odyssey, See More, Wilson Staff, etc?

I truely hate people who stick their blade putter in the hole, and gouge it out to get their ball.... Really?....isnt their a rule against this?

There should be a LAW against it. Anyone caught doing it should be immediately banned from the course, just as with anyone else caught intentionally damaging the course!

A putter is worth what you're willing to pay for it, I have a Scotty SS Newport 2, a Never Compromise Sub 30 type 20, a Yes Sandy, and some other cheap putters. I personally like the Scotty and NC best of all the putters I own because they look great and I enjoy pulling them out of the bag.

To top it off, when you pull a blinged out putter out of your bag you don't want to putt like a hack with it so you tend to practice more (or at least I do) so it brings the scores down.

I looked at all 3 before making my choice. Actually the PING Redwood was in the mix as well. I had forgotten about a Cleveland Classic 1 I had that came with a set of TA 845's I bought in the spring. Only pulled the cover off of it once until I read they were 340g SS in the many positive reviews I saw. Since I was interested in an Anser style putter I bought the CC 4 and it's pretty close to the Redwood and I like it more than anything else I tried. Money wasn't an issue or factor in my decision. I bought what felt right.

I have a Scotty Cameron fast back and like it, but i could still see myself ending up with a YES or a Nike putter one of these days.
